Some sort of capacity limit like they do at the restaurants I imagine. But this is why Disney faces a lot of challenges that other resorts don't. The monorail is a challenge, but so are the MK and Epcot/HS boats, the skyliner, indoor shows, outdoor shows, rides like Buzz Lightyear that are constantly moving/loading and have people using the same guns over and over, etc.

Agree. Disney just has too many variables , and too many situations where social distancing is simply not going to work - and I don't mean because guests won't adhere to the rules - how are the monorails/busses going to work ? Not everyone is going to drive - the rides - even at lower capacity , the rides with long lines - how are you going to keep people apart ?
Restaurants? How will they handle the adrs ? If the restaurant WAS booked solid for any given day, who gets in ? Same thing with the parks ?

We have a trip planned for 7/14, and we really want to go, but I think at this point, Disney just needs to close until they can open at close to full capacity,.with only certain restrictions in place ( if that's possible)

The weekly cancellations are crazy at this point - people have a lot of time and money invested into these trips, and let ppl move on. It's hard to move forward when so much is unknown regarding an upcoming trip

To me this rolling cancellation stuff is crazy. I get they are doing it to prevent being overwhelmed, but they obviously have a reopen date in mind. I sincerely doubt they have been hoping to open on June 7th for the week and something changed that made them change their mind and push it out another week.

So cancellations go out 2 1/2 weeks before the first check-in date? Crazy. My check in isn't until June 16th, so I guess I can expect my cancellation 7 days from now (even though Disney probably already knows they aren't going to be open on June 16th).

if you call that's what they tell you. If you have a reservation they will contact you about any cancellation and can happen up to 7 days before

The last I heard was that only those with dated tickets and AP holders who made a park (not resort) reservation will be allowed in.

I know it comes up at least weekly, but this is the nature of traveling during a pandemic. I know we all have varying opinions from take this very seriously to media hoax, but Disney isn’t jerking people around for fun. While some people are frustrated with week by week cancellations, others would be very upset if they knocked out an entire month with more advance notice and then decided they actually could open in some fashion.

With exceptions like DVC rentals, people are free to cancel their own trip if they are not happy with the unpredictable nature of attempting to travel during a pandemic.

At least there's some hope until you get the email. but yeah, considering what came out yesterday from seaworld needing 2-4 weeks to get back up and running, it's doubtful Disney is up in less than a month. You'll probably know today when UO presents if there's any likelihood you can go to Disney on your dates.

Opening plans need to be approved by the governor and OC mayor - which they are required to deliver today (but only UOR is presenting). Once it is approved, I think we will see a PR from Disney with the date and what their procedures will look like.

We are forgetting that they need to get all procedures approved for CDC compliance. I have faith that we will know very soon what their opening date is.

Disney cancelled all reservations for end of May/beginning of June, so I assume that would include DVC (but I'm not a DVC member and you know what they say about assuming . . .)

A good sign that water parks are at least considered safe to open. I'm hoping, when WDW finally opens, at least 1 of the water parks will be open as well.
