Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

My thoughts are the international travelers, who at this point likely can't even get flights to the U.S. this summer, are either already cancelling their trips or just not booking for July and August. Hence, more FP availability.

I wonder if the opposite will happen eventually too - domestic travelers may not be able or will be nervous to travel outside US, so more Americans may choose WDW as a vacation spot in the future.

Maybe but I can see more deciding on their local park for the next little while as it will be cheaper. A lot of people won't have to money to go to Disney.

I think there are things Disney could do to make these precautions feel more "magical" in the parks, like the "stand here"/"don't stand here" stickers being themed to the lands, or crafting some kind of surprise and delight entertainment around social distancing. They're going to be necessary, why not make them fun? That would certainly be the Disney Difference vs how the other park operators are likely thinking of safety.

They could record that message in character voices

I'm talking about people here who were planning to travel to Europe, not those impacted by current economic situation. They may choose to vacation "at home" and Disney may not have been on the table before, maybe it will be now.

Agreed, they will have to stop that in the next day or so, got a bit over zealous with that idea. They probably have plans to do this at the parks too, will not be good there either
I don’t think they’re going to stop it anytime soon. They want to cover themselves anyway they can. We will see a lot of these types of “intrusions” at WDW for the next few months, if not the rest of 2020. Disney will be one of the last places to phase out of safety measures. We all know that you are one of the posters that are very gung ho about things going back to completely normal, but Disney is always going to err on the extreme side of caution because they have way too much to lose in the court of public opinion. They won’t follow exactly what the state and local governments are doing, they will always be more restrictive and slower to change these practices.

Doesn't bother me in the least. It's not like they'll play it continuously.

Yeah - but if you're staying at a resort and watching resort TV channels I'll bet there will be plenty of similar notices and recordings.

Universal is doing this as well. I don’t think it’s going to stop in a day or two just because it sounds weird. I actually think this one sounds a lot better than the universal announcements.

Resorts of course aren’t open currently and Disney Springs is a local hangout so many don’t stay in resorts and go there. You also have a lot of third property hotels right across the street. Disney Springs would be a place where you continue this announcement in the area. Parks you may be able to get away without it.

Iso I clicked learn more and it takes you to a page about DS opening and lists all of the requirements. I have mixed feelings on this TBH. Post says you must follow all the rules and obviously states covid is serious and reminds everybody to play nice. So that’s good. And I’m no lawyer but I imagine this indemnifies them to some degree from the people wondering if they could be found liable if people get it there
BUT here is where it disappoints me. Where they obviously are covering themselves from any fallout of an outbreak occurs it needs another line. There is no mention of what will happen if you DON’T follow the rules. In order for me to accept the risk they so clearly lay before me There needs to be a line that says “failure to adhere to these policies could result in ejection”. Overkill? Maybe. But based on what I’ve seen here there will be plenty of folks willing to disregard certain policies and then claim they can’t be thrown out because it doesn’t say that. IMHO this could lead to conflicts between guests. I know, if you don’t like it or are scared don’t go. So let me say I’m not going so save those posts. But there are plenty that want to go and would do so with safety precautions and they deserve to know they will be enforced.
B/c it’s not necessary. Failure to adhere to any of their rules even pre-Covid has always had the potential to result in ejection. Things should be case by case. I don’t understand why ppl want threatening messages.
