Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

I wonder if Universal and Disney are working together on the reopening date. I can't imagine one would want the other top open first because some (not all) may be willing to switch destinations if one were to open much earlier than the other.

Someone's source said Universal, Disney, Seaworld are coordinating or at least trying to.

Posts are easily searchable.
If a cancellation date seems out of the usual (current) order, folks will wonder.
And if someone wants to delete posts from earlier, they always can. Delete all the post and then post a period.
It took one click to see it. The person didn't have a ton of posts. It's also possible to make your post history private if you so choose.

I really REALLY don't want to enter the great mask debate but I have a serious question. Assuming masks are a requirement... What about thrill rides??? I'm not sure a mask will stay on during Big Thunder or Space Mountain. I wouldn't want to receive a used mask across the face.

I imagine they will stay in place if they fit well. I wear glasses, with elastic straps, when at WDW, and I have yet to lose them on a ride. First of all the elastic keeps them secure, but also as my head is pushed back by the force of the ride, my glasses are also pushed into my face. :) And I imagine a properly fit mask would behave similarly.

You can still book a Universal Resort room though for June-at least earlier today. And buy a ticket. I was able to get most of the way through as a back up to our DVC stay, just didn't follow through yet.

this is Such an insensitive comment. Here’s the deal. Anyone who is able to abide by the rules should otherwise that is just selfish. But there are people that can’t and people need to be sensitive to this. I feel like people expect Disney to put all these rules in place so no one gets COVID at Disney but the fact is if you go to Disney no matter what the rules are you have to be ok with the small chance you will get COVID because that is a risk. They can’t ever lower that risk to 0. If someone with a disability going is going to bother you that much and make you worry about getting COVID then it may be best to not go.
There was nothing insensitive in my post at all. I am not going to WDW so I did not really need you to tell me not to. If you are comfortable in the current environment taking your child to WDW good luck to you and have fun. I made no inference at all regarding disabled children

I actually think you are being rather insensitive in downplaying the virus. Many close to me have been affected, some in the worst possible way, and might I add pretty much ALL of them followed guidelines and did what they were supposed to. One died without ever leaving their house It’s people who reduce this to not being a difficult public health situation that give me the impression that there is little chance we will not experience a relapse. But enjoy your vacation

Just another anecdote to throw on the pile. We have a free dining trip in August which cannot be updated online so I had to call late last week to change our resort to POR. The CM on the phone asked me if I wanted 5th sleeper standard view, 5th sleeper water view or 5th sleeper garden view. 5th sleeper is only the AB section of the resort and while I always request it, we never get it. Interesting that only the 5th sleepers were being offered, no mansions. Could be a way to keep bookings to only one half of the resort as they keep capacity limited?
While this is a very plausible explanation, there have been reports from guests booking BBs before the closures that were provided quotes for upgraded rooms, and not until you asked for the standard/basic room, were guests given a regular room option. I myself changed my BB reservation on Saturday to Poly and, sure enough, was offered a pool/marina view. I then asked for Standard and it was available! So, I think they always offer an up sell first (which a 5th sleeper is).
