Rum Point Beach Excursion?

I know we can go there on our own, this is just a question about the DCL Excursion in case we want to go. This is our 5th cruise, 2nd Western and have usually done our own, but usually do one DCL and this might be it. There is a Rum Point Adventure 5 hours leaving at 8:20 - Rum Point Adventure with Stingray City 5 hours leaving at 8:20. I thnink my husband and grandson would love the stingray experience, however you could not pay me to get in the water with them and my granddaughter would freak out. Could 2 go paid for the beach, and 2 for the stingray city and be able to stay together except for the stingray thingy? Thanks!

markey have you been to other beach sites or just Rum Point?
Im trying to find out how different they are. Of course it looks like the stingray excursion is really close to Rum Point which might just decide this for us.
