Rules For Fastpasses given out

I'm hoping that the change is in going forward they don't issue new ones b/c of the FP+ system, but that current ones on file will still be good while the old FP is still in use. :confused3

Sounds like DVD may have surrendered or lost their compensation agreement with the Parks division with regards to FPs, but I assure you that the number issued at SSR on a daily basis was absolutely and totally statistically insignificant to any FP system, past or future.

Is that incentive is truly gone, it didn't have anything to do with FP+.

I have no idea whether the program is still there or not, or what form it has taken if it is still there. I do know that Friday when I called and spoke to the CM at the sales office in SSR, he said that they were still able to issue the passes - he just couldn't answer my specific question and I would need to contact my guide.

I may have phrased my previous comment badly, (I'm hoping that the change is in going forward they don't issue new ones b/c of the FP+ system, but that current ones on file will still be good while the old FP is still in use.)

Given all the unknowns about the FP+ system and exactly how it would work, I could potentially see them discontinuing the incentive program for DVC simply based on the FP+ system limiting people to 3 per day. With an expected rollout before the end of the year, I can completely understand no longer giving passes out specifically for situations such as mine, where the intent was to bank and use them sparingly over the next couple of years and visits. Assuming (and yes, I know what I get if I break down assume :)) that the two systems will coexist for some amount of time, people in my situation will have opportunities to utilize all the passes that were initially given, whereas people who receive them in the future may not be able to utilize theirs. (yeah, this is probably clear as mud, and I truly doubt that DVC is honestly THAT concerned about the very small number of owners who, like me, had planned to ration them across several visits.)

I was not meaning to imply that the number of FP issued from SSR was actually impacting the FP system, simply that they may be incompatible for use with the FP+ system - whenever that actually takes effect.

I am kind of in the same boat. 2 years ago we bought DVC on our last day of vacation. We were told that on our first trip to DisneyWorld to contact our account manager and we would get those instant Fast Passes.

Last year we went to DisneyLand so this is our first trip back to Disney World. My original account manager is now management and I sent e-mail to my new account manager 2 weeks ago about the fast passes and he said he would look into it. But haven't heard back yet.

Fingers are crossed the promise will be fullfilled.

Just got off the phone with my guide. He assured me that the numbers are in the system, and to just call and come by the office when I get there to pick up the passes. It's all good.

Phew!! One less worry for this trip.

:goodvibes It's the little touches that make it feel magical. While you're down at SSR, see if you can get a sneak peek at the GFV (... or is it VGF?) model.
