Rude!!

Some of the new people in the office gave me a small shower. I ddi the right thing and wrote thank you notes and passed them out today. Well I just heard two of the women who aren't in my dept. comparing thank you notes and laughing. Their notes are practically the same because they went in on a shared gift.

Maybe I'm being hypersensitive but I thought that was so rude.

I think it is both rude and tasteless. I am sorry that you overheard them as now this is what you will remember rather than the gift that they gave. Sometimes I just don't understand people.

Forget them...if they have nothing better to do than sneer, they don't deserve the effort it takes to be annoyed. (easier said than done)

Well I guess you could have had them share the thankyou also.

Were they laughing because they were similiar or were they being mean spirited? I really don't see much wrong with it maybe they thought it was cute, afterall they gave the same gift they should get the same thank you. (did that make sence or is the heat getting to me?)

Glad to know I'm not being too sensitive, I am about to have a baby and all, I know my emotions can be crazy.

For the record their notes weren't exactly the same they were personalized but sheesh.

I should have known better, one of the women accosted me the other day and started rubbing my belly. I was about ot have a stroke.

Preshi, I hated anyone at work touching my belly when I was pregnant. I was very vocal about it when it happened too. All kinds of people will touch your stomach when you are pregnant--unbelievable!

Keeps your hands to yourself. Or at least ASK first.

Oh and the Thank You notes... don't worry about it. At least they received a note (uncommon these days). They are really probably jealous of you so laughing at the notes made them feel good. Whatever floats their boat.

Nah they didn't know, they must think I cant hear because I am all the way at the other end of the suite but my office and dek is right at the end of the hallway and all the noise filters back here, plus I've always had great hearing.

Whatever, My Mom raised me to be polite in that way. I don't fault myself for it. I only have 2 more days here anyhow then I don't come back until the end of July, some of my coworkes will still have to deal with them everyday LOL

Sorry, but I don't see what the big deal is. So they were laughing because they were almost the same. Its not like they were laughing because you used bad English or something and they made fun of your grammar. How much could they dislike you if they gave you a gift?

Just be grateful you got a shower and gifts from work.

I personally find it annoying when there are showers in the workplace because they make you feel obligated to contribute. ( which I think THAT is rude!) If showers and the like would get banned altogether, there would be no problems with "thank yous", getting people to contribute, etc.
