Just arrived in Anaheim. Looked at Mouse Wait. Is RSR really down?

It has brief spurts of being down but always goes back up.

My family that is going with us hasn't been on it, so it better be running on Tuesday!

We are just wrapping up our vacation. RSR did not open until 10am on Wednesday (and Thursday morning, too, I believe... we did DL that day, so I'm not sure). Friday we went to carsland for Luigi's and Maters only (kids had done those with DH while I was waiting for RSR FPs on Wednesdays). Checked the RSR line out of curiosity, and, though they had opened at 7am, they were down again before 8am. We did have EE, so that helped.

We noticed a good number of breakdowns all over the parks, though, so I'm wondering if last months' thunderstorms pulled a number on Anaheim's power grid and a complex ride such as RSR is particularly vulnerable to power fluctuations (in addition to maybe still working out a bug or two). This is only my own random guess, though... not official info.

I saw a surprising number of other rides break down here and there, too. Grizzly River Run was down for a while on two of the four days we were there but opened back up later during the day. We love Davy Crocked Explorer Canoes, but they were down for most of Wednesday (though probably not due to power issues!). I was a bit baffled by the fact that a guest propelled ride could be down, but I guess there was some debris in the water that had to be cleared first. Haunted Mansion was down for some time on Wednesday (not sure how long). Alice in Wonderland broke down both on Thursday and Saturday morning, just when we were getting ready to get in line for it, but, again, was back up running later during the day. I also think I saw people being turned away from the Matterhorn Saturday morning (though I didn't inquire further, since I was there with a 4- and a 6-year-old, both of which, though tall enough, are coaster wimps...).

Despite those hiccups, we had an amazing trip, btw...

Back to RSR... getting a FP first thing in the morning definitely worked for us (since our kids are under the 7 yrs limit for being able to ride by themselves, single rider was not an option for us).

Awesome. Thank you everybody. We had a slight change in plans and are sticking solely to DL today, hopefully RSR will be up & running Monday & Tuesday.

We are coming down in a couple of weeks and keep seeing RSR closed on our iPhone apps. But, it says the single rider line is open with a 110 min wait. Does anyone have any further info on this seemingly ongoing problem? Thanks!

It's ongoing, and if the ride is down they close entrance to all lines, that includes SR. You can't always trust the info you get from the wait aps to be 100% correct.

We had friends at DLR the past 3 days. We told them to ride RSR as soon as possible. The 1st day they only went to DL. The 2nd day they didn't get to the parks early enough to get RSR FP's, didn't want to do single rider, and didn't think it would be worth the long standby wait. Grrr!

Yesterday I insisted they meet me at CA at opening, I took their tickets and waited in line to get FP's for them. Got a return time of 6:35pm and the dang ride was down then. It didn't re-open until about 8pm (which was posted closing time yesterday, but hours were actually extended until 9pm) Thankfully they finally got to ride, but they all wanted to go again and it wasn't an option at that point.

So my advice to you is the same as it was to them; ride RSR as soon as possible. That way you have time to adjust if the ride happens to be down (again... yes, it's an ongoing problem) or if you want to try to ride more than once.

If the ride breaks down during your FP return time window, will the CMs allow you to use your FPs later in the day

But what happens if the ride goes down in your FP return window then?

Is it just tough luck?

They normally enforce the window on RSR? They don't anywhere else...

No, they don't. I was there 2 weeks ago and we had no problem using fastpasses later than the time on the pass.

The first day we got there, we got into the single rider line twice and then an announcement was made that it was down, you could either wait or exit. We waited 20 or 30 minutes the first time and gave up. We came back later and it was only a couple of minutes before the announcement and we just left.

We then went over to CA Screamin and were in single rider then when the ride went down. That time they said for everyone to reverse the lines and exit.

We were convinced we were the kiss of death......:rotfl2:

Come back later.

Here now.. RSR didn't open at all today yet because of rain that stopped around 8:30..

Good friend!

I have to say that the Lines app is HORRIBLE. It let me down countless times last week. The only thing about it slightly helpful was when I went into the user-submitted info. They seemed to have the pulse of the parks, not the official info on there. When Splash was down then up then down then up repeatedly one day, the normal info said it was open for most of the day. I only knew b/c of the user-submissions (thank you to the one user who must have been camped out there while updating for hours!).

We had RSR breakdown as we were next in line to load. We waited about 15 minutes for it to restart but the cars were not moving and no was was unloading either. Luckily we had already rode it 5 times as my DD had to go to the bathroom so we decided not to wait any longer. The CM was very nice and said we could comeback up the exit and he could get us back on but after a full day we were tired and we decided that was our last ride for the night.

Which wait times app seems to be most accurate? I just got MouseWait and Disneyland Magic Guide for our upcoming trip.

So, if you wait in line for almost and hour for RSR and it goes down, will the CM give you a FP do you can ride it later (if it comes back up)? I'd be so disappointed if the ride is down the whole day we're inDCA.
