RSR 2nd FP??

So I have a 9.05-10.05 FP and tried getting another RSR at 9.10. The first CM said we couldn't get a 2nd FP for any attraction at all, which I know isn't correct. So I asked a lead and he said for RSR I can't get another FP n until our window EXPIRES, not when the window starts with like other FPs.

Does this sound correct?

Thanks

You can get a second Fast Pass either:

a. When the FP time expires

or

b. 2 hours after you requested the first fast pass.

You should be able to get another FP once the window opens for the current one you are holding. Unless something has changed, you should have been able to get another FP at 9:05.

Edited to add: I have only been to WDW. Are there different FP rules for DL and WDW?

Yep!

In this area, no. But there are some things that are subtly different.

Just to update, I was able to get another FP after my first window passed. Maybe we'll ride at night, the FPi got at 10.05 is for 9.10 tonight.

Again, I think this is just RSR related.

Very interesting! RSR is programmed differently than some other machines anyway (I believe you can get a FP for another attraction immediately after you get one for RSR?), so this is very good information. Thank you!

So according to Touring Plans DLR crowd level is a 9 out of 10 today. The park opened at 8 with early entry at 7 AM and you were able to get a second fast pass at just after 10! That sounds much more manageable than what I had thought was the case. I am hoping then on quieter days it won't be near as bad.

A lot of people here don't really trust Touring Plans' advice. But either way, a lot of locals (and even tourists) don't get to the parks until later in the morning. Even if the park is busier, FPs may last more hours after opening on days when the park is open 8 AM - 11 PM, than when it's open from 9 AM - 9 PM. There are more 3 more valid hours for FPs to be distributed, and a lot of people visiting don't even get to the park until 10 AM or later, even on an 8 AM opening.

Please note that 2nd FP wasn't valid until 11 hours later. They must have been very close to the front of the line for a 9:10 am FP.

Maybe you can't have two active fastpasses for the same ride. That would explain why you couldn't get another one until the return window expired.

If that's true, that's new. As I understand it, formerly (and not necessarily for RSR), you could get a second FP for the same ride as soon as the first window OPENED. I've done that for Space Mountain before.

Because RSR is an unusual case, I am GUESSING this is just a RSR thing, not a new FP rule overall. I'm not sure if anyone's tested with any other rides, though.

We've done the exact same thing for Splash Mountain multiple times. I hope that it's only a RSR thing, not something that is going to be applied to all the rides.

Do you know what time you pulled your first FP?

Park opened at 8 and I pulled my first FP at maybe 8.15 for 9.05 (I was in line before park opening). Then the second was pulled at 10.05 for 9.10 pm.

Now that I think about it I remember some posts talking about not being able to hold 2 concurrent FPs for the same ride at DL (but that not being the case at WDW before someone comments about pulling the same ride at WDW).

I asked because I was thinking maybe RSR is set to allow FPs within two hours of each other, figuring no one would actually be able to do do before they run out.

This was a few months ago now, but early December I pulled RSR at regular park opening and the park wasn't too crowded in the morning (rain). I was able to pull a second at the beginning of my return time window. We had a little confusion though b/c I had 8 tickets. 4 of those pulled ToT after RSR ( as allowed ) and we forgot about those - that return time was a little later than RSR and on those 4 tickets we had to wait for the beginning ToT time. Only 10minutes later so it wasn't a big deal. Besides that trip I haven't tried to get a 2nd RSR - always gone before we would be able to get another.
