You can still search the latest posts by a person. There's a thread on the Tech Support Forum discussing this.

Just find a post by the poster, click on their username, and select "Find More Posts by xxx". There you go!

Ok, I'm not a board moderator, or webmaster or anything at all like that but I guess I'm just sick and tired of hearing everyone complaining and whining about "the search is so bad". "it doesn't do what it used to" "it's worthless".

ARGH!

If everyone who has complained about this new search had donated just $25 to the DISboards in the past 6 months, that would have been close to enough to purchase a new server. New server = No need to use Board Tracker? Don't know. We'll never know!

Let's face it folks, this board is FREE to you and it costs and INORDINATE amount of money to run. If you LIKE it the way it is, and want to CONTINUE to use it and have it be functional, then DONATE money.

Try this - every time you want to go to do a search and it doesn't do what you want to do, or you have trouble finding it - put a dollar in an envelope next to the computer. At the end of the month, send that to the DISboards. Put your money where you mouths are. Support something that obviously every one of you relies on so much.

Regardless, I hated the old Search because of how often it came up with Error 500, and how often it crashed the forums. Google does a good enough job, when the forums' new search doesn't.

Kathy, not all browsers support that drop down. I am fine on my desktop or laptop, but when I travel, I do not have that option there. It just takes me directly to the user profile.

The other issue is sometimes you cannot even find a person's last post. If they have never started their own thread (and that has hapened) you cannot do that type of search.

That brings me to this... why was the link taken out of the profile to do a search of all posts? We used to have *BOTH* options there, now we only have the search threads started.

Before anyone says anything else, I have donated to this site before.

I tried searching for the newest survivor thread with the dog....can't seem to find the newest one.
However it should bump up when the show is on so I am not too worried about it.
I am glad this site's free too Whahoo
