To upgrade to club level would be an extra $85 a night. Is it really worth it for breakfast and snacks? :flower: It will be for 2 adults and 2 kids for 5 nights. Thanks

That totally depends on you and your kids, what they will eat,how old they are, etc. I am taking 3 teen boys so i figure it will be worth it, easily for me. Breakfast, snacks, water bottles, hors deorves, and wine and beer for the adults. If you have little kids or really picky eaters it might not be worth it.

I did conceirge at the Polynesian. Like the previous poster said...it all depends. Breakfast was ok, but do you want to have breakfast at the same place every morning? Also, the selection is VERY HIGH CARB everything!!!!
We never took advantage of the evening snack/hors deovers because we were out and about...or getting ready to go to dinner...so we didn't want to eat before we went you, ya know????
I did like the bottled waters...but is it worth approx. $90 a night....I don't know...it all depends on you and your family!

Breakfast is about all that you save, but then you miss that wonderful Breakfast downstairs with Mango Cream Cheese and Made to Order Omelets.

No I don't think it is worth it at Universal. It is not a true concierge service experience...like at Disney, it is just a club level with snacks.

$85 a night, for 5 nights?
That's $425. Unless you're rich, that's way too much. I've stayed at the Renaissance Club across from SWF for 2 nights, and that was worth it, and the differance was only about $30 a night. But $85?
Naw, use that money to rent the car, visit the grocery store, and pack a cooler.
Agree, the time you need it the most is in the morning, when you can have doughnuts and milk in the room. Otherwise, eating breakfast at the downstairs restaurant can cost a small fortune. Many just walk over to CityWalk and visit the Cinnabon place. Here's my page on how to pack a cooler.

Doing this involves work, carrying the cooler up stairs, and refilling it with ice. But you've got two kids to help out. They'll have fun running down the hallway to get ice.

I have to disagree, sort of. It may be worth it, it may not. Of course not financially, but for convenience sake it may be. Everything I do on these vacations is for convenience. I know personally i dont want to get a cooler and stock it and worry about food turning soggy, i'd rather send the boys to get snacks in the lounge (also keeps the room cleaner), so every person has to weigh those factors (and no, I'm not rich...I just like my vacation to be vacation for me too, moms you know what I'm talking about) :goodvibes

I find it well worth it with older (11+) children. I love the ability to "escape" mornings in the room to relax in the lounge with a cup of coffee until everyones done showering and such.

We paid about $100 more per night last August and I though it was well worth it. Breakfast had one hot dish, and I was also able to get my yogurt and granola. Bottles of water for the parks were readily available all day long. Having a quiet place to sit mid-day was nice. Kids loved the snacks. They also had a hot dish and beer and wine from 5-7 and DH and I always had a couple of drinks before we headed out to dinner. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I agree with the last 2 posts. Well worth the price. Relaxing lounge and conveniently located.

Hope you don't mind if I tag an additional question as I was considering Club here too.

Is the Club centrally located and are the Club rooms likely to be more convenient to getting around--ie lobby, pool, boat dock?

Or could your room still be out in the far reaches or end of wings?

Thanks Much!

Thanks for all of the replies. I am still trying to make up my mind. Everyone has good input. :)

I know exactly what you mean!!

We've stayed Club level at HRH a couple of times and found it worth the cost. I'm a single mother on a single income with no child support so I'm in no way rich. I work 50-hours a week, so I like to splurge on my vacations for some added relaxation.

Also, when you stay at club you get 50% off the cabanas, so you don't have to worry about fighting for a chair by the pool.

We'll be staying at RPR club level in November and looking forward to it since I heard it is better than HRH club level.

Although you haven't mentioned the age of your kids, I do think it is well worth the price if you use it for breakfast and the evening drinks. Eating breakfast in there is very nice as you can get your day started much easier and faster than everyone getting ready and then heading our to get order breakfast. The evening drink time is a great way to get in a little relaxation time after a long day in the parks. We would eat an early dinner, get in the last hour of the drinks and then head to the pool to enjoy an evening swim, the lighting is great at this time of night. Breakfast for 4 at the resorts or even the parks is gonna cost ya $30 at least and then drinks in the evening say 2 wines and 2 beers are gonna go for $20 with out tip. You are now at $50 and you still have to think about all the water bottles you'll grab and sodas and coffee and snacks and I think you have hit your mark. So go for it and enjoy. You'll be glad you did.

robvia,
Tell me about the Renassaince Club level. Planning on going June for 3 nights to do SW at end of 2 week trip. Have me, DW, DD's 10 & 13. Would you go here or someplace else? Why, can you talk me into it or out of it?
Thanks, YO

How much are the cabanas? How long do you get them for? Morning til night?

We had one for 3 days last AUgust. I think they were $75 full price, and we paid half price. You have it from the time the pool opens until it closes. I would make a reservation soon, because RPR has only 3 of them. #2 is closest to the pool and better if you have little kids. I think #1 & 3 both are a little secluded, an have hot tubs right in front of them.

We stayed at Renassaince Sea World on the club level immediately after our club stay at RPR, and we were dissappointed. They do not offer free drinks at happy hour. They had one hot hors deurve at "happy hour" and it was usually pretty sad looking. They did have a contenental breakfast with one hot item, but RPR had a much bigger selection. The club room overlooks Sea World's parking lot, but we were able to see the fireworks from there every night. Personally, I would think twice about spending the extra $ for this club level, it was that disappointing. RPR is significantly more expensive to add on club level, but it is so worth what you get.

Hi

We are going in March and staying club level. I can not wait. I love the convenience of grabbing the waters and breakfast then off to the park.
I have a two year old and we might be stuck in the room at night. So my husband and I will switch off and take my daughter down for snacks drinks etc.

I just like it but I like splurging on vacation, the less I have to do the better.

Hope you try it :sunny:

I will be going to the RPH and staying in club level. Any tips on best room locations (park views or pool views)?
