We stayed at the Royal Pacific one night (and 2 days) before going to our regular hotel just to experience FOTL. Used the APH rate of $149. I was very pleased witht he hotel. Check-in went smoothly except for the clerk asking us the same questions 2-3 times (literally). Weren't sure what that was about, decided she was new.
The lobby and other common areas were beautiful, airy and spacious. My kids enjoyed waiting out by the fountains while we checked in, which probably took about 30 minutes. I loved the way they had the rooms separated into 3 towers. We were in tower one. Long, beautiful quiet halls. The rooms were small, but very well decorated. The dark colors were a nice touch - and different. Made you feel like you were in a luxury hotel.
We all enjoyed going to the parks via the water taxi. If it hadn't been for the fact that I really loved the hotel, I would have been disappointed in FOTL access. The parks had very low attendence. There was really no waiting for any attraction except maybe the Jimmy Neutron ride.
All in all, I really enjoyed my one night stay and look forward to going back and spending a few more day either there or the Portofino Bay. I thought the hotel - being the cheapest Universal Resort was much better than Disney's Animal Kingdom lodge. If they added a meal plan, I'd be sold!
Does anyone know what all of the little frog statuettes are about?
