RPH reservation questions - long, confusing

Hi everyone!

This is my first "real" post/question!

I'm a Fl Res and made a reservation at RPH for the end of March. I have never stayed at any of the hotels and really had a hard time making up my mind especially with the great rates the person on the phone was giving me. So she put two rooms on hold for me to think about - a standard room at PBH ($259) and a King Suite at RPH ($268). After talking it over with my mom, who I'm traveling with we decided that we wanted RPH but just a standard ($249) room to save a few bucks since it's a short unexpected trip and just the two of us. So I call back and book a standard room at RPH and reads everything back and all is good.

Yesterday, I get my email confirmation and it says "King Suite" for room type but the price of the room is the standard room price! Crazy but I figured it was just a typo.

So today I call reservations because I forgot to give my loews first member #. She brings up my ressie and says okay I see you're in a King Stuite $249/night...See where I'm going with this? I think the original ressie operator gave me the King Suite for the Standard room price. I personally don't care what room I'm in but I'm really curious now to see what room I'll be placed in at check in. What do you all think?

And second, what kind of view do theKing Suites have? Can anyone give me some pics of the room? I saw some but I'd like a refresher!

Thanks so much!

I think a King Suite for $249 is a great price if you don't mind sharing a bed.

Here's a small picture of the room and floor plan from the site..

I have no idea about the views though. I think you'd have to ask Reservations about that..

Congrats! you have gotten a free upgrade! This is a good thing, I promise! I am guessing that when you called back and explained you would just like to go with the less expensive room the person at universal decided to do something nice for you! The extra sq ft in the king suite will be very nice! I havent ever stayed at RPH, but everyone seems to think the standard rooms seem really small. FYI, please take the paper work with you that states $249/ king suite..... just in case. ;)

View can be of pretty much anything. Front entrance, highway, or pool. Ask for 3500 or 3600. Best king suties in the hotel. 3400, 1700,1600, and 1500 are good as well. They all have pool views. Enjoy!

Thanks!

I didn't make any special room requests other than nonsmoking since it's such a short trip. Plus there are no balconies to sit and enjoy the view from anyway. I'm also hoping that no special requests = room being ready when I check in before 3. I'm getting pretty darn excited now - even though I know I'm getting the pull out sofa so my mom can get the king bed.

The pullout sofa is not the most comfortable. My kids never complain but once my daughter and I order a scary movie and we made the bed up to watch it in the dark. My daughter fell asleep and I was left alone in the dark with the scary movie. :scared1:
I remember thinking that I'd have a hard time sleeping on the sofa all night.
