just wondering if you think royal is suitable for a 1 year old

Are the nursery’s good if we wanted some time on our own ?

Planning on going on harmony of the seas

We still aren’t sure wether to do royal or Disney

Any advise would be greatful

Although I can not speak for the harmony, I have used the nursery on every class of ship both Royal and Disney. I have found them all to be staffed with excellent people, clean, safe, and affordable. One difference I will mention is that some of the Royal nurseries are a bit on the smaller side on some ships. I wouldn’t hesitate to sail Royal and use the crazy savings over Disney at the nursery.

The Royal Babies & Tots nursery on the Harmony is one of the larger nurseries in the whole fleet. They will be fine there. We haven't used the nursery but did use the 3-5 kids club (Adventure Ocean Aquanauts) on there (Which is right next to the nursery) and remembered it being pretty large when we went by there. There's a mini indoor playground you can use right across the hall from the nursery as well. Based on what we saw and talked about (we'd sometimes chat with folks picking up the kids), sure.

Here's a video I found of a tour through the one on the Harmony, if you are curious:

So we are planning in doing the eastern Caribbean and I just priced up Disney to royal and they are nearly double

Not only that but royal is offering free all inslusive drinks package. So if I take into account the money we would spend in drinks it’s problay double plus $1000. That’s crazy. We love Disney but we could do a 7 night eastern and 7 night western cheaper than Disney’s price for one 7 night cruise and all our drinks would be in it

I do no royal has some good adult nightlife to. Can anyone tell me on the harmony of the seas

- is there only so many hours your aloud in the nursery so its fair for others

- when’s the latest they can do to the nursery till or is there in room baby sitting. Just wondering if we wanted to go to a nightclub / would that be possible

- are baby’s aloud in the bars

- what’s the eastern Caribbean like for a baby and there private island. Any excursions you would recommend

No more in room sitting at all. Nursery closes I think at 2 am. Could be earlier. It’s also more expensive after the dinner hours. You are guaranteed a few hours per child, but space is a consideration so you may not be able to get the exact times you want.

Children are allowed in all public venues except the Solarium and the one lounge that goes adult only at 9 pm. However, they don’t really belong at the bar itself. Any of the other seating is fine.

Babies could care less about a cruise. Beach days are popular, but you need to budget for shade umbrellas. You can check out a bag of age appropriate toys to have in your cabin, plus the play area.

Assume there will not be much alone time for the adults.

Thanks that was very helpful

My kids were older on our first cruise but we wouldn’t hesitate to have left a one year old. (Our kids are daycare kids though and have been in daycare since they were 7 weeks old - so we are probably more comfortable with the entire routine than families who have not had that daily experience!!)

Depending on how busy of a week it is for others in that age group will likely depend on how many hours you can reserve on day 1 vs add after everyone gets a chance to have some. The slower the travel time the more likely to get all the hours you could want!!

We traveled with our 18m son on the Anthem. We didn’t plan on using the nursery but but ended up using it almost every day. He always had a good time and we were able to enjoy some time alone. It was nice to enjoy a meat without shoveling it in as fast as possible.
