Royal Wedding time difference

I am going to get up and watch it LIVE!! And I might even take the day off work. Mimosas at 6am, yeah!!

I don't know why I'm so interested either, but it's something happy and joyful and fun, when there seems to be so much bad news lately. I'm just going to enjoy the pomp and circumstance!

Wait, they're getting married on a weekday?? Oh man. That stinks. Was the site fee too high for them for a Satuday wedding? :rotfl:

Technical quibble: it's not the same aisle. She was married at St. Paul's; the current wedding is at Westminster Abbey. (The Princess of Wales' funeral was at the Abbey, however.)

Ah, yes. I knew I remembered something with the Abbey.

Well, maybe in the allegorical sense, it is the same - walking down the aisle to marry the one-day King of England. :)

So the next question, even tho every channel will cover it, which will be the BEST coverage? I know the Today show will be there, I like them, but they start at 7:00 am EST... suggestions? Which do you like?

This is what I'm wondering too! I just hate when the commentators talk over events as if what they have to say is more powerful than the event that is taking place. They sometimes forget that silence is golden.

I remember getting up at 6 am to watch Charles and Dianas wedding. My DD and I are looking forward to it, I already promised her I would make homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast.

I was sooo upset when I heard it was going to so early when it aired live in the states! I wanted to have a English Lunch/Brunch type party. So that's a bust!! I guess I will be in my p.j.'s drinking coffee and eating a pop tart.:rotfl:

FYI-I get my royal wedding new from yahoo, they have their own page with the time zone stuff.

I believe "The Today Show" will begin coverage at 4:00 a.m. EDT.

According to our family tree I am a decsendant of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. I just can't figure out why my invite hasn't come yet! :lmao: I can't wait to watch!

As my uncle used to say "Get married during the week, that way if it doesn't work out, it doesn't mess up your weekend" (Just a JOKE......)

BBCA is also broadcasting it too, I will probably be watching that one and CNN (doing the flipping!!).

According to my friend in England, it is a national holiday and he has the day off.

How are you? Which of their children? Just Curious...I've been reading tons of books on various Monarchs of Europe (I'm on the Russians now....lots of stabbing and bloodshed!). So I have to say the Victoria and Albert are my favorite.

I remember getting up at 4am or something for Charles and Diana's wedding. Coverage started several hours before the actual wedding.

Why am I so excited about the Royal Wedding?:confused3:lmao:

Because you're an aristocath!

I'm excited, too. Coverage begins on the east coast at 4 am. Actual wedding is at 6 am. I'll be up at 4!!

Nooo.... you have to have a party anyway! I'm having a few friends over at the crack of dawn and we are having mimosas and various breakfast pastries (and donut holes... yum). We might even wear tiaras with pajamas.

Well then I will have to call in British. ;)

I'll have to call my Aunt for the details but from what I understand Victoria and Albert were cousins. That explains alot in our family! LOL

My dd13 wants to dvr the wedding and have a royal reception here that evening! I may have to go for it, except that I'll be up by 4AM to watch it live, so I'll be exhausted :)

Plus no one else in my family is the anglophile that I am. As a matter of fact, when I was in college I took a class on the 20th century royal family!

The other reasons are that easter is April 24, and my dd's bd is April 20. I guess we coud have her bd party the weekend before, on the 17th. Oh my, so much to think about..... :rotfl2:

I believe the time goes the other way

6am Eastern
5am Central
4am Mountain
3am Pacific

Yes, I live in CA, if I want to get up to watch it I would have to be up at 3am … umm, NOT happening but I will dvr it. :thumbsup2
