So, DD asks me when Wills and Kate's wedding will be on TV here.

Now, I know that the wedding is scheduled for 11 am April 29 in London.

But what time will it be here (EST, CST, Mountain Time, and Pacific Time) here? :confused3

I think that should be 6 am EST, so add an hour per time zone. I know when we were on CST, and my grandmother visited London there was a 6 hour difference in our times so we had to time our calls for mid afternoon or the morning before school. HTH!

I can't wait to watch it. What can I say, I'm a sucker for weddings, and this one looks like it will be beautiful.

I remember getting up at 4am or something for Charles and Diana's wedding. Coverage started several hours before the actual wedding.

Why am I so excited about the Royal Wedding?:confused3:lmao:

The time difference INCREASES the further west in the US you go. The normal difference in the US Central Time zone (where Iowa is) at this time of year is 7 hours (UK Summer Time = GMT + 1 hour); I'm in the same time zone and I call family in England all the time.

11 am UK Summer Time on April 29th will be

6 am EDT
5 am CDT
4 am MDT
3 am PDT

Thanks everyone!!!

I knew someone would have that answer here!

And yes, I do remember getting up way early (4 or 5 am) to watch Prince Charles and Lady Diana's wedding with my mom.

How quickly the time flies - now, sadly, she is gone but her firstborn is walking down that same aisle!

I believe the time goes the other way

6am Eastern
5am Central
4am Mountain
3am Pacific

Yup! This is it.

And don't forget the pre-wedding coverage. I'm pretty happy I have the day off! I'm going to be one tired puppy! :rotfl:

So happy to see this thread... The thought about a time difference never crossed my mind! Lol now I'll be able to watch the beginning before going to work!

Not sure if I want to get up at 4 though to see it! The pre wedding coverage begins for us at 2 am :scared1:

I'm going to TiVo it..

This may be a dumb question but what channel will it be on...?

I know it will be on all the major cable news networks. I can only assume it will be on NBC, ABC, and CBS as well.

Technical quibble: it's not the same aisle. She was married at St. Paul's; the current wedding is at Westminster Abbey. (The Princess of Wales' funeral was at the Abbey, however.)

The Abbey is still an immense church, but it is not as TV-friendly as St. Paul's because of the the way that it is built; it is narrower and doesn't have that soaring dome. Don't expect to see quite the soaring vista shots that you remember from 1981.

Crap, I have a doctor's appointment that morning. :( It was supposed to be earlier this month but they called me to reschedule it. Maybe I should call them back and reschedule it again, so I don't miss it. We have DVR but sometimes it's not all that reliable and doesn't record when it's supposed to (it's old, we should probably call and get it updated/replaced) so I hate to take the chance on it recording and missing it.

Actually, he's not. Diana & Charles were married in St. Paul's Cathedral. William & Kate are marrying in Westminster Abbey.

But yes, it is sad that she's not here for that lovely day.
