Does anyone know the price for the royal rooms at the Port Orleans Riverside? And are they worth the money?

There are four different views with different prices. They also vary by day and season so it really depends on when you are going. Plus there are often discounts you can get applied, again your dates will determine that.

Is any Disney hotel worth the money? That said I think they are some of the nicest moderate rooms as far as decor with a Disney infusion. Here is a rate chart, scroll down for Royal Rooms.

We chose to book a Preferred room at POR, which costs less than any Royal room but does not have the fancy touches. It guarantees that you will be closer to the lobby, food court, and main bus stop. There are many different categories at POR, and lots of information on them hare: http://www.portorleans.org/riverside-info.php

I don't know the price, but on our last trip, we got a good deal on a royal room. We loved it! It was the first time we had stayed on the Mansion side. We have stayed on the Alligator Bayou side. Before we went I said that it would be the last time we stayed at POR, but now after a stay in the royal room, I am so ready to go back! I think you will really love all the detail! Happy Planning!

In my opinion, I love the royal rooms and would gladly pay the extra money. I just stayed in one in November. I always book garden view and the past 2 times I stayed in one, my room was on the river side of Oak Manor, near the foot bridge. The walk to the main building was literally 2-3 minutes. I love the decor of the royal rooms much more than the regular rooms. The price depends on dates and times of the year.

Usually priced around $250 (sometimes as low as $200 with a good discount, sometimes as high as $300 without a discount). Sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on discounts and time of year.

We stayed there a few years ago and really enjoyed them. You might be able to tell I liked them by my avatar. The only issue with the RR is that there is such an upcharge for them that, depending on time of year and available discounts, they are often nearly as much as staying in a standard room at WL or AKL. I would stay in them again, if the price were right. They are really awesome for little girls especially. POR is a gorgeous, if large, resort.

They are more expensive than they are worth IMO. I have stayed in them, and might do so again if I get a great deal so that they are the cheapest option, but I would choose preferred rooms in AB for the same price or less. Nice to see them once though because they are cute BUT I like the decor just fine in the other rooms - hence my choice to not spend extra money simply for princess decor.

We paid a little under $200 per night last May (there was a really good discount). We had been booked at CSR but had to change our dates and only Royal Rooms at POR were availble, and since it was only a little bit more, we went ahead with it.

We thought it was worth the price for that particular trip since the money was in the budget. Also, our DD really loved the princess theme and the fireworks in the headboards of the bed. POR is also our favorite resort, which makes it worth the money, too. We love the landscaping, the pool, and the food court.

I will say that the Royal Guest Rooms are pretty far away. Ours was in the furthest mansion building. On our previous stays, we had been in the Alligator Bayou section and that was much closer to the pool and food court. We didn't mind the walk - it was pretty and peaceful along the river and over the bridge - but some people might. The rooms are also not any bigger than other POR rooms and don't feature any special amenities other than the decor. So if you're not excited about the walk, and you think the princess decor alone is maybe not worth the extra money, you might be happier in a regular room at POR. Or, use the money to stay in a preferred location instead.
