Royal Pacific Resort or The Point Orlando Resort??

I apologize upfront if this an apples to oranges question. I am heading out on our annual 7 day trip to the Orlando area in late August. For the first segment of the trip we will be staying at AOA while we visit the Disney parks. For the second half of the trip I booked The Point Orlando as if seemed like a great deal for the money. I am now wondering if it would pay some more money and stay at the Royal Pacific for the time when we are at the Universal parks.

Would anyone have any input? The Royal Pacific will cost me more then twice the amount of the Point. Trying to see if it will be worth spending the extra money. It will be me, my wife and our 6 year old son. We typically are at the parks all day and spend minimal time in the hotel.

i have not stayed at the hotel you have booked near UO.
but, have had many stays at RPH.

if you are going the last week of August, the park will not be crowded.

i prefer staying onsite for the convenience.
can walk to city walk and the parks and be there within 7 minutes.

Agree..But personally ....I would stay onsite though..NOTHING beats a short walk back to the resort in the 90+ degrees with humidity to go for a swim or relax at the resort...and even though they aren't required, the express passes are HEAVEN...Minimal to no waits and with a small kid in the heat, you want as little wait as possible ..( remember there is NO free version of express pass to non-resort guests.You have to pay extra for that if you want it)

Hoping to see some negative reviews of The Point Orlando to justify my decision
