Do you have to pay to park at the resort? Also, the vacation packagages that are available online right now through the Universal site, is that the best option or is there better discounts out there?

I was looking at a week in June or July at the Royal Pacific and it was a total of $2200 for 4 of us staying 7 nights with 7 day 2 park tickets. Is this a good deal? Or would the Harry Potter deal be better? I thought I also ready that transportation is not provided for early entry. Would we have to call a cab or could we walk to IOA?

Yes you have to pay to park at the resorts. It is $15/night for normal parking.

You can often get a better deal by purchasing tickets at somewhere like Undercover tourist and getting a discount rate such as AAA on your room. You can also buy one annual pass and often get huge discounts on your room. Simply enter aph in the code box to check prices. Annual pass rates come out a few months before.

You can easily walk to IOA from all the resort hotels.

THANKS very much for posting this info!! We are looking to book 5 nights onsite and while playing around with using the APH code, I see the savings cover the cost of 1 annual pass. Plus we get other discounts!! Very cool indeed:cool1:!!

Just make sure you don't try and purchase the power pass as it is for Florida residents only and doesn't give discounts.

I haven't found the HP to be the best rate; the few vacations I've priced out with it cause it to be the MOST expensive. And I can't find any packages to be the best rate.

Rather, I found booking straight through the Loews Hotels website, and then buying the tickets through a discount place like undercovertourist.com, to be the best deal. You still get Early Entry to IOA, and you get FOTL access. HP gives you a breakfast, but you have to look at the price difference and find the menu to see if that would be worth it to your family.
