Maddi...I forwarded you a PM I received tonight. I guess I confused people when I reposted the rules and it said to PM me. I have edited the post :goodvibes

i am after you mompoppins and I will be bringing a strogae basket and canopy, but it looks like we might even be able to save those until later. Those pics are great and helpful. I will take them anyway. But my 30 lb 10 month old may find her way into the storage basket if the seat is left like that.
I will be glad to replace the seat if one is available. I know parkersmomma has been working on it because of the defect. Update?
Would duct tape keep it going until a new seat can be put on??

Maddi, We just added a day to our trip and will be arriving on the 19th, could you change the dates for me?

Yes. Maybe having those people drop out isn't such a bad thing! Like Disnuts said, then the swaps can be combined and some of the strollers can go on to their new homes and help those in need!

Parkers*Momma - you are doing such a good thing for so many people! I know it can be frustrating - but we all love you for it! Thanks again (and again and again....)

I have to say I agree. I just hope RC#3 is still in working condition in Sept. I will keep my fingers crossed and help out with what I can when my time comes to use the stroller.

Hello! Back from a wonderful vacation full of hot hot weather and magical memories!

This is my RC #2 update: When I received the stroller, after being sent to 3 different places (the Beach Club staff did not seem to be to aware of this kind of thing), the first thing I noticed was a huge rip in the very new looking seat. I called right away (the number on the stroller) and left a message with an alternate phone number for me to be reached at. I just want to say that no-one let me know about the condition of the stroller at any point before, or during our 8 day vacation. Perhaps the person before me could have left a note or a message. The last thing it says here on Stroller #2 was "the seat had been replaced", not anything about the huge tear. I barely used the stroller because I know the family after me had a baby and I did not want to make it worse. It wasn't until I met up with the swapper after me and she said the seat had been torn when the family before me had put it on.

I just want to post this to let others know for future swaps that there MUST be communication. People cannot be left in the dark for 8 days, not knowing what is going on with the stoller. A phone call or a heads up would have been great. The last thing on here, the night before I left, said nothing about a tear. Imagine my surprise and OMG when it comes around the corner looking like this:

As for the canopy, it was old and faded but worked fine. The bag underneath did not drag at all for us either. We had a small bag with about 6 drinks in it and a camera bag with 2 cameras (one slr), a camcorder, and 12 dvd's in it too. So unless you put around 30 pounds in there I think it would be fine. There was a brand new rain cover (which we did not use) and the plastic hooks metioned prior. Wheels worked fine and so did the brake.

This swap is a wonderful thing and does help save a whole lot of money. Unfortuatly we did not get to utilize it as we would have liked. I just wanted to fill you all in on the condition of the stroller and to encourage everyone to communicate a little bit better.

Thank you!

That's too bad about the frustration you had and especially with just FINDING the stroller. :sad2: I can't see the pix though.....can you possibly repost them. (I'm keeping tabs on #2 b/c we have it LAST in December! :scared1: )

So aside from the torn seat, all looked ok at this point?

Hi,
I'm interested in stroller #1 for June 1-8 if you still have those dates available. We are staying at the All Star Sports.
Thanks!
Lisa

OK, I just got off the phone with instep once again!

They are sending for FREE two new seats for #1 and #2 since they are less than a month old.

The tires are in and being shipped on Monday also. BUT I just got word that #3 is completely down and fix-a-flat didn't help....The tire and tube will not be here for 3-5 days which plus me shipping it down it's going to be better than a week.

So the next swapper (TXGIRL) might want to consider donating a 12" tire and tube (available at any bicycle shop). It will need put on the rim--I'm hoping one of the stroller rental places or maintnance will help with this chore.

KION did say that they were given a free stroller to use while at MK since the stroller had a flat tire and stroller renting couldn't get it to hold air either.

So here is the update as of today.

#1 and #2...new seat will be here next week

#3 out of commission for TXGIRL unless she is interested in bringing a tire and inner tube for the stroller. New tires will be here next week.

#4 new tire coming next week.

#5. Practically perfect.

NOW here is the clincher. I can not afford to overnight this time when they come in. If they are each sent to a different swapper and overnighted it will be close to $100 for me to do that. Even standard shipping is going to run me about $50 for 4 swappers. UNLESS I can get one swapper who will be willing to accept just one package and meet the other 3 swappers. Then it shouldn't be over $20.

ANYONE?

At this time, I don't think it will wise to add new swappers until all the issues are taken care of. I'm sorry but I honestly think we need to make sure the strollers are up and running in good condition before adding ppl and chance even more damage or a child getting hurt.

As soon as things are good, I'll open the swap back up. I'm really concerned over the condition of the stroller, the safety of your children and making sure the current swappers have a stroller to use.

If I am looking in the wrong direction, please point me in the right one. I'll be honest, it really is bugging me that my hands are tied as they are. It was so much easier just to order what was need as soon as it was brought to my attention than to bring it to the boards and ask someone to donate it.

OHhhh and guess what I got in the mail today. The foam tape! It was marked undeliverable. What can't the USPS find DIsney.

So when I mail out all of the above items, I will through the tape in the back for #1 and #2. If I only lived in Florida, I could pick up each stroller when no one is using it, fix it completely and take it back to WDW for the next swapper. Then no shipping fees, no bugging swappers to fix things, no lost mail.

If only it were that easy!

Oh Maddi - you certainly have a lot on your plate and are going through hoops for all of us in the swap! I'm so sorry it's turned into such a nightmare. I really appreciate all the care and effort you put into this!

So how was the other person able to get a free stroller from Disney? I'd think they'd say "it's not our problem your stoller won't work". That's nice to know that they were willing to let them use a stroller the whole time!

They (KION) were having problems with the tire and took the stroller to Magic Kingdom seeking help from the stroller rental CMs. Since the CM weren't able to fix the stroller, they (KION) left the RC stroller there and Disney left them use one of theirs. :)

Maddi if you sent everything at once how much do you think it would weigh and how big would the box be???
If everything was seperate same question(weight and size)
Thanks

WOW, quite impressive!! I'm sure there is no guarantee they'd always do that but it sure is kind of them to have done it for KION!

Oh by the way, if you are going to close off the swap to new swappers (which I think I have to agree with your reasoning on that decision) then you may want to change your siggy...

Maddi,

How much is the new tire? I have #3 in early June and I am willing to order it to me as long as it isn't too much and take it down with me. But that isn't until June.

Can you see the pics yet? I can see them on your post so maybe it was temporary..? Yes, aside from the seat it was fine. The stoller had some wear (other than the new seat) but nothing that effects it's use right now. The rip in the handle in on the lower right side and didn't effect the pushing of it at all. The tires worked fine and as mentioned before, it does fit through everything, it's just a tight squeeze. The hardest was the shops and stores. The stroller feels huge in those!

Hey I have a quick question. I'm on RC#1. There is 20 days in between the last swapper prior to me and myself. Is there an issue w/ the stroller getting lost at the resort?

Once the strollers get back up to snuff I am sure that the swap will be reopened to new swappers to help fill in the gaps.
If the gaps cannot be filled then hopefully a stroller sitter will step forward in order to keep the strollers out of luggage services for long periods of time.:thumbsup2

i am at wdw now. the wheel went completely flat on us at mk yesterday. when cm was unable to inflate the tire and keep it inflated, he comped a double rental for us just for that day. we had brought our double with us when i was notified of the tire issue prior to when we left. we are now using our double and will leave #3 at the next hotel for the next swapper.

Hi,

We just got home from our vacation last night :sad1: We had RC #1. Honestly we didn't use it very much. Maybe once at a park and around the resort a couple of times. I wish we could have used it more because it pushes and turns so nicely! There is a tear in the seat which really didn't effect the usefulness. I don't know if there is something wrong with the backboard or if that's the way the stroller is, but it was very uncomfortable for our baby (8 months old). She could not fall asleep in it, because it kind of leaned in, so it made her lopsided. We just ended up using our stroller. I don't know if other people have had issues with that and an infant. Our two older girls liked it though, but we needed it mostly for the baby, so that's why it did not get used much.

All the accessories are there though, so that's nice! I can see how accessories get lost. When we folded the stroller to get on the bus (yes, go through the back door of the bus) some of the accessories fell out after the stroller was folded, so you have to keep an eye on them. We had a fabulous time though. We did a split stay between All Star Sports and the Poly. We liked both resorts, but I'm just glad we ended the trip with the Poly! With our family it was perfect for our 3 girls. I hope everyone who is going has a great time! Thanks for all your hard work Maddi!

We had Rc 1 a couple weeks ago. We had a 3 yr old and 6 yr old and they didn' have any problems. We didn't recline it at all because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it back up! (the famous string was tied and I didn't dare loosen it ) I don't think the backboard was broken though. My friend had RC 3 and I will say those seats looked much more comfortable than RC1's and I am not sure why! Oh well, it did push like a dream didn't it? Glad to see you had fun! :goodvibes

Hi everyone.

Have I abandon the swap...no not at all.
Have I fired a couple employees and working 16 hour day until I get new hires trained....YES...it bites, that will teach me to fire ppl.

I have deleted all the no responders and moved ppl all around. I'm trying to close down the swaps soon than December or at least put everyone in one of the better strollers. I have 7 ppl in swap #3 right now but that might be changing soon as I have two ppl who might not be in the swap. To those 7 ppl, please don't worry, I will make sure you have a stroller. I will know more by Wednesday on those 7 slots.

IF...and this is a BIG HUGE IF....but If I can get this worked out. Would an offsite person or a person who has a car be interested in shipping #3 back to Ohio? I will reimburse you the costs. I know for me to ship a stroller down with UPS (me packaging it) is less than $30. I don't know what UPS charges to package an item or if there is one of those pack and ship stores in Orlando. Anyone have knowledge of anything like this in Orlando. I really would like to salvage what we can off the stroller before disposing it. I would actually like to have it here and maybe Dh can fix what needs fixed and I can get the seat repaired so we have a back up with the new model. I still have the old model but that's not going to help us with #3. ANYONE?

PLEASE CHECK THE CALENDARS FOR YOUR NAME AND CONTACT THE PERSON BEFORE AND AFTER YOU IF IT HAS CHANGED.
