MNSSHP sounds SOOO fun! But we are going in December. I'm tempted by MVMCP however I keep reading people say it's not worth the money and it's super crowded. I considered not getting hoppers (honestly don't think we'd use that option more than one-two times) and using that as my excuse to buy the party tickets. But I've been scared off by so many who say it's so crowded and not worth it.

We're going early December - Pop Warner week, unfortunately - which also scares me in terms of nighttime crowds. Girls will be 2 1/2 and almost 4 and normally are in bed by 730-8pm. So I hate the idea of paying that much for tickets and then have them tire out early in the evening and we have to leave. Have any of you been there with toddler/preschool age and do you think it's worth it??? An extra $50-some per person is ALOT.

We went in January with a 2yo and 3yo, and they were both so excited all day every day, there was not a nap to be had, as hard as we tried. So, yes, every night they crashed at the dinner table, we literally had to wake them up to eat, then carry them back to the hotel, and change them into jammies while they were still sleeping, and lights out for all of us by 8-8:30pm. We are going this December (the girls will be 3 and 4) and are not buying the party tickets, we are just going to enjoy the lights. I think it will be a few more years before we attempt the party.

As far as hoppers, we had them, and used them once. I liked the idea of them, but didn't use them as I thought we would. If you are concerned about meals, we found that many of the resorts have excellent restaurants, so if there is nothing in the park you want to eat, just take the bus to another resort for dinner. Just remember, you will have to take the bus from the resort back to a park or DD and then another bus back to your resort. It was never too big of a problem. I think you are going the same time we are, and I heard it is not very crowded in the first half of December. We'll see...

I've got a bigger fish to fry right now, I still have 20 ppl who haven't read the PM about monthly PMs and that really bothers me. 4 days to the 10 day mark :(

Keep your fingers crossed that everyone Pops on DISBOARDS soon!

:scared1::scared1:
Come on people open your PM's. Just reading the news from your email does not count!!!

Hopefully these people are like me... some weeks I can't find a spare minute, and other weeks, I can't keep away...

But it doesn't mean I'm not dedicated. Just overwhelmed.
:laundy:  :surfweb: :drive:

I'm so happy the stroller worked out well for you! I sent two new seats down for #1 and #2. I talked to Ryan840 a couple of times since she has been there and she has the new seat on #1 and was going to put the new seat on #2 last night.

As for the handle, I mailed (USPS) foam tape for the handles of both #1 and #2. I probably should have mailed it UPS but it was cheaper to do USPS. She still hasn't recived it but she was going to check at the front desk for it yesterday also. SO both #1 and #2 should be up to par! WAHOOOOO.

I agree on the width at some of the turnstiles but using the handicap-if no one if there-helps or going to one of the end turnstiles as they seem wider.

I glad you had a great time and the strollers worked out well for you. :)

Hi parkers mama if the tape doesn't get there before ryan840 leaves let me know and I can be on the lookout for it when I am there, I wouldn't want the tape to get lost and go to waste I probably would just need ryan840 real name which I know I have somewhere in my folder because she is in my fridge swap. Just let me know if it gets there before she leaves and if not I will locate it for you.

Still here... Like a PP stated, sometimes I just get overwhelmed... Now is one of those times! I always read, but hardly find time to post. June/July can't get here soon enough!

I'm so glad to see that this swap has found a way to continue! Here's to hoping that all the strollers make it to December for the later swappers!

Hi I am back!

I had RC #4 ( I think, lol)

Well, it was not the same stoller shown in the pic but it had my name on it, lol. We replaced the seat the morning we left so the seat has NEVER been used! It took hubby about 2 hrs to get it on though, it just wasnt working right

All I got was the stoller, none of the accesories.

We were really lucky to have the stoller, it was so hot the kids got tired out FAST! We are from Michigan we are soo not used to heat! LOL

Hubby fixed the part that was stopping it to latch the main bar into lock postion, but we were unable to do anything about the BAD wheel in the front. It looks like it is going to snap off at any second.

I do have a few pics I took before my camera got demolished and can post that.

I just was wanting to stop in here to let everyone know that the #4 (?) has a new seat on it!

Thanks and we REALLY appreciated having the double, so Thanks so much for keeping this going!

Dana

So how is Sherlock Holmes doing tracking down the swapped out #4????

:lmao::lmao:

Popping in really quick here, I just got a chance to check my pm's and will stick to the original plan to drop it off for paytonbear.

The seats on both 1 and 2 have been replaced now but I am still waiting for the bike tape to arrive. :confused3

Maddi- I just asked them again about it a couple of hours ago, that's the third time they've checked for the package. Tomorrow is my last chance and I will try again but I'm not too optimistic. I don't think I'll have a chance to get online again as tomorrow is a crazy day and we leave first thing Wednesday morning so if you want to call my cell feel free.

Stroller 1 has a sunshade, fix a flat, tire pump, and mommy hook and I'm leaving the rain cover and a couple other hooks with it. The canopy is pretty well worn but fully functional though the plastic window was ripped then glued and when I washed it (it was filthy) the glue came loose so it's taped now. If the bike tape arrives it won't need anything for a while.

Stroller 2 had nothing but a couple of hooks on it (not even the seat covers) and we'll be leaving a rain cover and a few more hooks. The canopy on that one is well worn too but the window is in tact. Same story with the bike tape.

The strollers are great, both fit through the gates at MK but you have to get one wheel through then turn it a bit to do so. They do tip over VERY easily when nobody is in them, even with nothing hanging from it. Just having something in the pouch on the back is enough to drag it down. They also both have Maddi's contact info on them.

I'll get everything updated tonight. I'm babysitting 2 extra lil ones this week while thier mom is out of town. I'm definitely not used to chasing a 2 year old:scared1: I'm feeling my age for use!:lmao:

Ok, I'm still waiting on the new wheels so I will call them tonight to see if they are available yet. I have two of them on back order.

As for the tape, UGHHHH I hate USPS! I'll stop on my way to work and see if it there for some dumb reason.

talk to everyone tonight!

Hi I have some bad news and some ( good for me )news. The good for me news is that we found out that I am expecting our third child yesterday! It is quite the miracle and we are pretty over the moon about it!
Bad news is that I am considered high risk (age, history and other factors) and my DH is not too crazy about me going all by myself so I am not going to go in July. I have RC1 and was to babysit RC3. Sorry!

So the way it looks, when I have the stroller in about 3 weeks, #2 may need a canopy, and maybe a storage basket for underneath(because it drags). Is this what I am reading? Plus seat covers, but they have new seats, so I dont know that seat covers are needed now.
Since i may have time if I act now, I will check on getting a canopy and storage basket. Maybe they will arrive in time and I am sure those will be quick fixes, for me--not DH!!

If you guys will post some and reassure me that these look like they are needed, I will get on the job and see what I can find out. If I am replacing the wrong stuff, let me know that too!

Thanks--getting so excited!!!!!!!!!!

It is so nice that everyone is posting the conditions and what may or may not be needed for the strollers! I will have stroller #1 in august, so as it gets closer-hopefully everyone will keep posting and I can get or bring some stuff that the stroller may need! Thank you to everyone. This swap makes things easier while traveling with little ones!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Do not worry I am sure that Maddi can get things worked out:goodvibes
You just do as the doctor says and take care of yourself:hug:

This is such a great idea! Thank you for maintaining this! I'm wondering if I can join the swap for our trip this summer. On my (first and) last trip to Disney, I realized the necesssity of a stroller. I'll pm you with our info. Thanks!

Wohoo! That's wonderful news! I am so happy for you! You are wise to skip Disney. Pregnant, all that walking and the heat is not a good combination. Take care and let us know how you are doing!

Does #1 still have the Kiddopotamus shade? Can the canopy be replaced easily? If anyone has a price for a replacement please let me know.

I am thrilled about how everyone is volunteering to maintain the strollers! You are truly a wonderful group of people. Don't you wish people could work together like this all the time in all aspects of life?

Have a great day Swappers!

Called instep to get info about ordering a canopy and storage basket for #2. Got some good info that some of you may be interested in.

She quoted the canopy to be 29.95 but she that that price was probably incorrect since most of the canopies run between $10-$15. I asked about installation--how easy it would be. SHe said all you need is a phillips head to undo a few screws and the canopy would slide off the metal bar and the new one would slide on. (sounds almost too simple, but with a little pixie dust...)

The storage basket is $10 and I think it stalls the same way, screws and such. She said shipping was usally about $5 but I am betting more like $10 or $15.

I will definitely do at least one and replace it when I ge there. Any suggestions?
Note: Just to be clear, not asking for money, just suggesting parts.

Congratulations! I agree with Nelep and Disneynuts, I'm sure Maddi will figure something out for 1 and 3 now that you won't be going to Disney...but for such a happy reason. Just think, you skip this trip and take care of yourself and that beautiful little baby inside, and your next trip you'll have one more reason to celebrate...and one more first time to witness and enjoy!

I have to say, I was so shocked when I heard from Angey about the situation with the swaps. It was such a tremendous help for me and my aunt using Tink and RC. I am sad to think that a minority of people ruined (or almost) such a great thing. It's awesome to see how you are all working together to help Maddi and each other to keep these swaps running. While the swaps will be closed before I would be able to participate in it again, it truly was a Godsend this trip!

I thank you all for keeping this going for each other's sake.
