All of you are lucky to go to MNSSHP... I would love to go. I was hoping for a Pirate & Princess party when we were down in April but they cancelled all of those.

As for us driving from RI, my DD5 says NO WAY. She wants to be in Disney as fast as she can. (I am creating little Disney obsessed kids:rotfl:) So we might be back to flying.

But a parent of one of the kids DH coaches says he would give us a week for free at the Sheraton Vistana Resort. We have to talk to him more but I am like OMG, but the inner control freak in me is like wait... we need to book our own stuff, not someone else.

Does anyone know what is going on with swap #1? I am all set up with the person before me and when looking to set up with who is after me my name has been removed entirely???? I paid and reserved back in Feb. 09? I did PM parkersmomma, just thought maybe someone else may know in the mean time. We leave Wed. at 6am-this is our first Disney trip ever and we are very excited!!!! We will be at AKV.

Sounds like a girl after my own heart! As far as MNSSHP, DH were fortunate to be able to do it on our honeymoon. It was so much fun and if I had a different career, I'd go to Disney the last week in October each and every time because it was absolutely gorgeous there at that time. Warm weather, no humidity....unbelievable. I'd be freaking out about someone else booking for me too. Besides, I'm the crazy type that has to stay on property because part of the vacation for me is being surrounded by Disney 24/7!

Hello ~ Hopefully parkers*momma will be back on here soon and let you know what is going on. There has been a lot of changes with the swap in the last few weeks.

I looked at your post and it looks like you were around here in Feb. set up your stroller and then came back today to check on it. I hope she is able to work something out for you.

You will have a great time at Disney. I hope you have a magical first trip! :goodvibes

Hi all!

Just back yesterday from 10 days in WDW and Vero Beach! It is so hard to come back but at least it is 60 degrees today and not freezing! ;)

I had RC 1 and it worked wonderfully. It was quite weathered but steered well and was comfy for my kids. It was very light to push. I never untied the string for the back so I never reclined the kids. I was afraid if I untied it, it would never go back again!

The soft covering on the handle is coming off and if someone had some superglue they might get it to stay there longer. the bag underneath the carriage sits low to the ground but doesn't touch the ground yet. The fabric on the seats has ripped but had been repaired. all in all I think it has a lot of life left although it appears weathered.

Doors are tricky to get through with this. The wheels can get banged so easy if you don't go through just right. I yelled at DH more that once, "OMG Watch the wheels!"

I took it to the AKV for the next swapper on Tuesday. I pumped up the tires, cleaned it and washed the removeable fabric. I also called her with the claim ticket number. I hope she got it with no problem. I have been worried it would go missing or something!

Thank you Maddi for doing this swap. I took pics of the stroller and when I get everything downloaded to the computer I will post some pix. This has been a great help and saved us tons of $$! I would love to participate next year too! Thanks SO MUCH!

I'm so happy the stroller worked out well for you! I sent two new seats down for #1 and #2. I talked to Ryan840 a couple of times since she has been there and she has the new seat on #1 and was going to put the new seat on #2 last night.

As for the handle, I mailed (USPS) foam tape for the handles of both #1 and #2. I probably should have mailed it UPS but it was cheaper to do USPS. She still hasn't recived it but she was going to check at the front desk for it yesterday also. SO both #1 and #2 should be up to par! WAHOOOOO.

I agree on the width at some of the turnstiles but using the handicap-if no one if there-helps or going to one of the end turnstiles as they seem wider.

I glad you had a great time and the strollers worked out well for you. :)

MNSSHP sounds SOOO fun! But we are going in December. I'm tempted by MVMCP however I keep reading people say it's not worth the money and it's super crowded. I considered not getting hoppers (honestly don't think we'd use that option more than one-two times) and using that as my excuse to buy the party tickets. But I've been scared off by so many who say it's so crowded and not worth it.

We're going early December - Pop Warner week, unfortunately - which also scares me in terms of nighttime crowds. Girls will be 2 1/2 and almost 4 and normally are in bed by 730-8pm. So I hate the idea of paying that much for tickets and then have them tire out early in the evening and we have to leave. Have any of you been there with toddler/preschool age and do you think it's worth it??? An extra $50-some per person is ALOT.

Personally, I wouldn't. That seems like alot of money if you are going to be leaving so early because of bedtimes. You can always visit the resorts and enjoy the lights.

Then again, I think hoppers are a waste of money :scared1: as to do a park, it takes a full day and the hassles of going to park to park. We did hoppers one time and decided the time spent on the buses or in lines waiting on a bus was wasted. It might be different if you could go park to park but standing in line at a park to get to a resort bus getting off at the resort then standing in line to get to a park bus was such a waste. Those 2 hours wasted could have been spent riding rides at the first park. Especially with little ones going at their pace...it could take you all day to get through a park.

JMHO

I too think PH are a waste. I like to do one park a day and come and go from that park as I need to.
We did PH one year and I was a frazzled mess by the end of those days!!!

I may be in the minority, but I like the flexibility that PH's give me. We always rent a car so the bus lines aren't an issue for us. We've used them to do Animal Kingdom and then hop to another park for the evening because AK closes early, as well as to do dinner at EPCOT even on the days we didn't go to EPCOT. But, I completely agree that if you are using Disney transportation, you really are wasting time and money with the PH's because to use the hoppers, you are standing in line too long for the buses.

I think you can add the PH option at any point in your trip. So, wait to see if you actually need it, and then add it the day you want to hop :yay:

:dance3: (I love this one)

Ya we are using Disney transportation and we're going in early December and I think the parks close relatively early anyhow. I would LIKE an extra night or two for dinners in World Showcase at Epcot but there are enough other options out there at the resorts that I'm not going to spend the extra money on hoppers just for the option to go to WS in the evenings. So I'm 90% sure no hoppers for us. I don't really see the need especially with the girls so young. They are tuckered out by 7pm most nights and I don't want to force them to stay up late a bunch of nights and then get all cranky. :rotfl:

I'm not going to lie (oh, but I am changing topics now!) that I'm a bit concerned about using the RC2 as the last person come December. My fear is that it'll be all worn down and rickety by then. :sad2: But I'm sure praying that's not the case! :wizard: Which reminds me - what does the last person DO with the stroller when it's done? Will I need to pack it up or anything to ship somewhere?

Picabo I hear you- I'm right before you in the swap for #2 and your concerns are my concerns. I'm not sure that there will be anyone to donate anything if the stroller starts to fall apart towards the end :sad2:. But we'll just have to wait and see what happens :wizard:. You can rest assured that I will leave it in as good or better condition the I recieved it- for you. Let's just keep pur fingers crossed and hope for some of that Disney magic to get us (and this swap) through. :tinker:

I would love to say it will be in perfect condition but I'll just cross my fingers. Everyone has been very open to donating so with everyone's help and faith, the strollers will be there in working order.

When we make it to the last swapper, I'd like to donate them, if anyway possible, to a children's home or battered woman/homeless shelter. Somewhere that the magic will continue for another family with children or children without parents. But we will cross that bridge when we get closer to December.

I've got a bigger fish to fry right now, I still have 20 ppl who haven't read the PM about monthly PMs and that really bothers me. 4 days to the 10 day mark :(

Keep your fingers crossed that everyone Pops on DISBOARDS soon!

there is a post on another thread that a diser has requested someone who is going down to WDW soon vidoe tape a character saying Happy Birthday Sage you are going to Disneyworld for a surprise for her little sister's birthday any taker's ??? I know the people on this board are the best I have attached a link to the post

how I wish I was going to be able to help her out. Come on swappers who are going in the next week or two...you could be helping spread the magic.

Thanks for posting this...hopefully someone on DISBOARDS can help her out.
