MNSSHP sounds SOOO fun! But we are going in December. I'm tempted by MVMCP however I keep reading people say it's not worth the money and it's super crowded. I considered not getting hoppers (honestly don't think we'd use that option more than one-two times) and using that as my excuse to buy the party tickets. But I've been scared off by so many who say it's so crowded and not worth it.
We're going early December - Pop Warner week, unfortunately - which also scares me in terms of nighttime crowds. Girls will be 2 1/2 and almost 4 and normally are in bed by 730-8pm. So I hate the idea of paying that much for tickets and then have them tire out early in the evening and we have to leave. Have any of you been there with toddler/preschool age and do you think it's worth it??? An extra $50-some per person is ALOT.
We went in January with a 2yo and 3yo, and they were both so excited all day every day, there was not a nap to be had, as hard as we tried. So, yes, every night they crashed at the dinner table, we literally had to wake them up to eat, then carry them back to the hotel, and change them into jammies while they were still sleeping, and lights out for all of us by 8-8:30pm. We are going this December (the girls will be 3 and 4) and are not buying the party tickets, we are just going to enjoy the lights. I think it will be a few more years before we attempt the party.
As far as hoppers, we had them, and used them once. I liked the idea of them, but didn't use them as I thought we would. If you are concerned about meals, we found that many of the resorts have excellent restaurants, so if there is nothing in the park you want to eat, just take the bus to another resort for dinner. Just remember, you will have to take the bus from the resort back to a park or DD and then another bus back to your resort. It was never too big of a problem. I think you are going the same time we are, and I heard it is not very crowded in the first half of December. We'll see...
