OK...now on to the fun stuff.

For those of you who will be visiting WDW from SEPTEMBER 15-24. I'll be at POP CENTURY and I see several of you are going to be there too! I feel a mimi-meet coming on!

Ok, we have requested the 60's building, near Mowgli and Baloo, ground floor (easier with the large strollers) and court/pool side...if we get our requests, look for a window decorate to the extreme and a thing on the door for ppl to sign that says, "Greetings from Ohio, where are you from..."

I've already got our requests on the ressie, calling POP 7-10 days prior, and faxing 5 days before we get there. Seems to work for us when requesting a certain room.:)

ANYWHO...we have several night we are spending at the pool outside of the 60's building. The 16th, 18th, 19th, 21st and the 23rd will be pool nights around 8pm or so. So if anyone wants to meet up and let the kids swim...I would love to meet you in person. Of course we are doing MNSSHP on the 22nd and still working on the costumes so if you are going...let me know what you are dressing up like and I'll keep an eye out for you! :)

So I walk outside while he's mowing the lawn. He turns off the mower and I ask him what size pipe insulation. He looked at me like, "Seriously, our trip was in February and you're still on this stroller swap thing?" OK. He didn't say it, but I know he was thinking it!

He can pretty much fix anything (except cars).

Now I really am going to bed!!!!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: That is way too funny!

I was just sharing your experinces of fixing the stroller with another swap leader who's stroller is having issues. I still love the part of the white van pulling up. I keep invisioning something like a bomb squad type pulling up. White van pulls up...men jump out of the van but instead of guns and bullet proof vest...they have tool boxes and duct tape....rushing to your cabin to assist your DH in fixing the stroller.

OMG I would have loved to see that!

OK YES!!! we must meet up!!!! we have requested 50's, Lady and close to the parking lot (with 3 kids and my mom with a bad knee we cant walk very far after a long day) and on the ground floor, havent decided on pool side or not. we will also be decorating the room window, prob a birthday theme as my DS is going to be 6 while we are there, the 23rd is also a pool night for us since MK closes at 8pm and we will be at the MNSSHP on the 22nd ( either as the peter pan clan(wendy, tink, hook, peter, george, john and tiger lily) or the dwarfs...there are 7 of us).

Mousekeeping will probably think you're a little weird too! But that's ok. We all think you're great!

Nighty night.

OMG...I had not even thought of mousekeeping:lmao::lmao:

Wonderful...I will probably change your swaps a little later in July to cover the biggest gaps. I don't think 4-5 day in Luggage services is bad but a week or longer scares me!

I will keep my eye out to see who to get in touch with!!!:goodvibes

I so wish someone had video taped this!!:laughing:

So do you think you and MRSDENNISON will recognize each other for the swap? I was still giggling about that today!

I hope we recognize one another. Our mom might be disappointed otherwise.

Mrsdennison:rotfl:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao: I'm sorry but that was one of the funniest things. I'm stressing thinking how in the world am I going to work out #5 for the next swapper. Then I remembered you were going to stroller sit for #1 but also knew you were going with several family members. So I send sonnesolsun this lengthy PM with alot of MIGHTS, MAYBE, IF, POSSIBLE...all pretaining to #1 and if you weren't going to use the stroller then she could use it. When I read it was your sister I was rolling!

It's fantastic that things have worked out for the next two swappers. Now to see if joannem has any luck in temporarily fixing the seat until the new one is available to order and ship.

I'll be sure to look you up! So while you are at MNSSHP and a crazed red head runs up and hugs you...think nothing of it. Unless of course it isn't me, then you might have a problem!

of course when the crazed brunette with 3 screaming kids bangs on your hotel room door... make sure you open up :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Ill have to post a pic of myself so you have a better idea of who will be chasing you down :rotfl::rotfl:

I just recieved a call from Mickeymom24 on #1. Her lil one (who wieghs around 30#) was in the stroller and the seat started to tear. OK, she has #1 and #2...her DH compared the tears (at the seat AGAIN) and they are identical! It's definitely a defect with the way the replacement seats are being made.

I'm calling INSTEP in the morning AGAIN over the seats. I"ll post as soon as I get home from work as to what I found out. THese seats are three weeks old, the seats before them were 4 weeks old. At this point, I know it is not the swappers---there is absolutely no way it can happen this frequently and in the exact same spot each time!

I'm off to check to see if there has been a recall or if there have been other reports on the web.

Good luck Maddi.....I will keep my fingers crossed that you are able to get this resolved!!!!!

Can she take a picture and send it to you so that you can send it to InStep to show them? How frustrating!!!!

:rotfl2: OK. For those of you wondering what the heck she's talking about, here's the story.

We had OLD RC4 (since retired) at the end of Feb. Previous swappers had mentioned a wobbly front wheel. So handy DH brought some tools. Our first night at FW Cabins, DH is on the porch with the front wheel off of the stroller. He determines that it needs few washers to stablize the front wheel for a temporary fix. So after trying to make one out of plastic lids, pringle can tops, etc. - Oh yes, he is creative - I get wind of what he needs and suggest that I call maintenance.

I explained to the front desk that it was a weird request, but our stroller broke and we needed a couple of large washers to fix it. The CM said, "OK, I'll call maintenance/engineering and I'll give you a call back."

About 5 minutes later, a large white panel van pulls up and a Disney maintenance person in a spiffy brown jump suit hops out. DH and he rifle through his van but did not see what he needed. He calls his buddy. Another white maintenance van pulls up. Now we have 2 brown jump suits and 2 vans and lots and lots of tools (DH is now lovin' this Disney thing!) Again, more rifling. DH finds a few washers. DH and 2 brown jump suits all go up on the porch and watch DH fix the wheel and put it back together. VIOLA! They all seemed quite pleased with themselves :rotfl2: (Meanwhile, I am looking out the window and cracking up!)

I wish I had taken pictures!!! But, you see, this type of thing happens all the time with DH fixin stuff, that I didn't really think twice about it. But now, in hindsight, it was a bit hilarious! DH claimed that he'd like to move to WDW and be a maintenance guy! :lmao:

OK, the family and I just checked into our layover hotel in GA.

Earlier today I recv'd a call from mickeymom24 regarding the unfortunate circumstance of RC#1.

What can I expect tomorrow? Will a stroller be available?

Also, early in the AM last night, I received a PM response from snowwhitemom with her contact information. If a stroller is available tomorrow, how will the swap proceed?

Please let me know.

Thanks,

David

Ok...this makes me very nervous. I am so worried now about using the stroller with my dd and ds. I am just praying that it will be ok since #2 will have a new seat.

Poor Maddi...it just never ends for her! :sad2:

you will be fine, you have a new seat.

I'm just really curious on WHY the seats are only lasting about a month. It seems to ALWAYS be the same spot. Where the dark material, light material, and center material meet. It's kinda hard to explain if you don't have the stroller in front of you but the main thing is this...

#1 and #2 are the original strollers. The seats lasted over six months. Once we put on the "replacement" seats, that is when they started only lasting about a month or so.

1) This is my thought...are the seats not being put on correctly? The directions are very very vague so I would really like a step by step explaination on how they seats should be installed. Maybe they aren't be put on correctly since the instructions aren't very helpful.

2)Since these ARE replacement seats are they the same EXACT seats used when the strollers are manufactured? Are they pulled from the same EXACT batches as those that are used in the assemble line? Or are they seats that are being made strictly for "replacement" seats and never been used towards the assembly. Here is my thought, Everyone that has put a new "REPLACEMENT" seat on has said how snug they are when they are put on the frame. I thought originally that the reason they seem so snug is because they are new--not stretched out like the old seat. But if the "replacement" seats are made strictly to replace damaged seat and have never been used in the original construction---then maybe the specs are off. Even 1/4 inch difference on each seat could be causing the problems. If they are 1/4" off on both sides, that is 1/2" to short which would mean when the seats are being put on by us, the material is having to be stretched (hence snug fit)---this also means that it is causing way to much tension on the seat seams. If there is undo tension/stress on that center seam, once weight is put on the seat, it's cause more pull/stress and the seats are tearing out. (I hope that makes sense to everyone.)

3) I would like to talk to a higher up at INSTEP and ask if I can send the current seats back (provided I can get them to replace the seat--hopefully I will) for them to look at the problem themselves. I know the last time this happened-the swapper who replaced them said the set she replaced when it was sewn it was only caught by 1/8 inch. An 1/8 inch is nothing--I don't sew but I do know 1/8" is nothing when sewing especially something that is suppose to be holding upwards of 100#. I'm hoping that once they see what the problem is, maybe they will offer us some kind of recourse to rectify the problem. #1 and #2 aren't even a year old---bought at Burlington Coat Factory Last fall---the seats have been replaced three times since Feb. 2009. The strollers have a year warranty and I'm really going to try to play that aspect up to them. The warranty doesn't cover tires, rims, axles...but is suppose to cover everything else. So to mean that means seats as well.

I studied and read all day, now it's time to use that I have learned when I call INSTEP Monday.

AGAIN---Mousermom09...you will be fine, you have a new seat. Hopefully I can have this all sorted out before you leave so you will have a piece of mind.

SWAPPERS---I'm going to do my best to get to the bottom of this and hopefully get us a little resolution so we can relax a little bit for our upcoming trips.

Maddie,

I have a few ideas for the interim...maybe we could add a little extra fabric into the area to prevent continual rippage (is that even a word???) until the whole seat thing can get resolved...that would at least allow other swappers to keep using stroller #1. What type of material (color, size, etc.) are we talking about? I am not a great seamstress, but I can probably sew in a little extra fabric at the seam to make it last (as I am supposed to be using it in lieu of mrsdennison stroller sitting, unless of course #5 is in better shape when I get there.)

Also, for the handle...instead of the pipe insulation and duct tape method...what do you think about a steering wheel cover like you buy at Wal-Mart? I saw them last night and thought, maybe this would look nicer...you would just have to cut it (so it wasn't a circle) and slide it on. I would still need to use the duct tape at the ends to fasten it, but I just thought it might look more like the original stuff and more comfortable as well...any thoughts on that?

Just let me know how you want me to proceed and which stroller you'd like me to use while I'm there!
