Uh oh....apparently I am quite confused. I was under the impression that the swapper before me was mickeymom24. That is who I spoke with and made arragements with. :confused3

So if she is not the swapper before me...then who is now? Where do I pick up the stroller?

No it looks like who you talked to is correct. mickeymom24 was supposed to be stroller sitting #2 as well as using #1.

Hey everyone! I just wanted everyone to know that I picked up #1 and its doing great but I need to go back to the POP and track down the accessories as they could not find them for me. Starrynt said that taped them to the stroller but they couldn't find it. I can see how easily things could lost because nothing was tagged. They tried to give me at least 5 different strollers(none tagged) before they finally brought the right one out. I was also supposed to babysit # 2 but there is no way I can fit that sucker in my SUV along with 7 passengers and the other stroller. Dear hubby almost had a coronary when I told him we had to take it. What would you like me to do about # 2 Maddi?
By the way, today was awesome! Spent the afternoon in AK with no crowds cause the rain drew them away. Practically no wait times!

Okay now I can see why you are confused!!!
Please PM Parkers*Momma and get this sorted out. She has been in communication mickeymom24. Hopefully she will have an answer for you:thumbsup2

That just proves my point on the seats being a flaw. DebraW76 and I had to wait quite awhile the last time we had seat issues on #3, #4, and #5 because they were back ordered. I can't remember exactly how long it was for #5 when DebraW76 called but that is when she decided just to replace #5 and use the old one for a back-up.

If the breakage is in the same place as the other ones have been it is located at the top of the 5 point harness. If it's the same spot, it's where the shoulder straps come through the backboard. I'm not sure how to temporarily fix it. Maybe cutting the material at the top and (OMG THIS IS GOING TO SOUND BAD) duct taping the board back together. Glue might work, I'm not sure.

Someone who has had a stroller with a broken backboard, could you enlighten us on what would be the best possible way to temporarily fix the seat until a new seat is available?

I didn't notice if it was broken or not with me. But again my kids are older so we never laid the seats down so that may be how I missed it.

THe old #5 also had the same problems with the broken seats. What a user did was use a sturdy, thin material (like a clipboard) and he slid it into the seat and used the large binder clips to keep it in place. Duct tape would work too but for some reason that word makes a lot of people nervous.

I cant remember what he used exactly but I would suggest something that wouldn't fall apart if it gets accidently wet.

You mentioned it is where the harness comes out of the seat? Then it may mean that the harness/seat belt goes through the backing. Meaning there are holes manufactured in the backboard for this. If this is the case then the 'new' board will need to go behind the current backboard or else the harness may not work properly. (again, we never used the harness either).

Hope this helps!

Yes she is the swapper before you. She has #1 and #2 this week. Using #1 and suppose to have #2 for safe keeping until you arrive instead of letting it set in Bell Service for an extended amount of time.

So yes, you exchanged information with the right person.

HAHAHA DUCT TAPE...My fix-it-all!

Seriously for those reading the thread on the temporary fix of #5. If...and this is a big IF...duct tape is used, it will not be seem by the anyone. The duct tape-IF it is used-will be on the inside of the seat. The back board will be removed from the stroller seat material-then duct taped- and slide back into the material and the seat will be sewn shut. No one at WDW will know the difference as it will not be seen anywhere on the stroller itself. It will be concealled inside the seat back material.

I hope that will ease anyone who has the impression that IF the duct tape method is used it wont be wrapped around the seat itself. HAHAHA I can mental see that picture now that DebraW76 brought it up...trust me, that isn't what we had planned. Plus this is going to be a temporary fix until the new seat is available.

Yay....so I'm not losing my mind! :lmao:

But did I read that she said she was unable to get #2 b/c they didn't have room in their vehicle? I may have that wrong....the heat is slowly frying my brain. :headache:

I know, I have tried calling her but she hasn't picked up nor returned the calls. I even PM'd her 3 times last night as she was online when I started typing but offline by the time I finished up.

I'm still trying to get hold of her so she knows it is really important to follow through with #2 and to return to get the accessories for #1. #2 can't sit in bell services/luggage services with her name on it very much past her check in time or there is a chance it will be taken to central lost and found :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Plus I PMd her my info to attach to #1 and if it isn't on #2 to put it on #2 along with your info.

Hopefully she will pop online or call me back soon so I can sleep without popping online every couple of hours to check my PMs and sleeping with the phone isn't nearly as much fun as sleeping with DH. I'm worried I will miss her call.

I am leaving as we speak to go pick up stroller #2 and look for accesories for #1. I need to do this before my family wakes up. I will report back as soon as I can!

So I'm leaving in a week to head down toward FL:cool1:...just wondered what condition #5 was really in and whether I needed to pack a back up stroller for the kids???:confused3

Any update whether it is usable and whether the duct tape method was used and/or successful?

Thanks!

I just received a phone call from mickeymom24... She has located and picked up all of the accessories for #1.

Mickeymom24 just called me. She now has #2 and all of the accessories.

:cool1:

Hope you all have a very blessed day!

I was also going to let you guys know about the condition of #2. mickeymom24 said the canopy was torn around the clear window area. She said the seat is not good at all. Also, the foam on the right side of the handle bar is torn or tearing.

I'm not terribly worried about the tear in the canopy. I will see if it is something that can be repaired once I get there. As for the seat....I still have not received the new one...so we will see if it gets here before I leave. If not....well, let's not go there. ;) The foam....I am wondering if black electrical tape might be an ok repair for this. Any suggestions?

I was at work when I received the call from mickeymom24....so I didn't have much time to chat. I was going over the conversation in my head after I got off the phone with her. I didn't quite understand if she was taking #2 to POP right now or if she was actually going to stroller sit until the end of her trip. A stroller sitting in luggage services until July 3rd mades me a little nervous! :scared:

You can go to the sporting goods department at Walmart or somthing like that and get the tape they use to recover tennis rackets etc. Iworks well for this. :)

Ok....just spoke with mickeymom24 again. She said she is in fact going to keep the stroller with her and drop it off at POP when she leaves Disney. Whew!! :thumbsup2
