Crossing my fingers it is. Actually, I've been watching the other swaps and the only time they have any problems (strollers being put in long term storage) is at the deluxe resorts. Since starrynyt and you are both at Pop, there shouldn't be a problem.

Hello all,
I am not new to DIS just the Disney World Part. You see I spent the last year on the Cruise board and well now that we are back we have decided to take a 10 day trip to Disney World next May. I was wondering if you all could help me.. You see I will be traveling with 4 little ones that will need a stroller. We are a large party of 13-15 people hitting the world May 28-June 7,8th of2010. How do I reserve these strollers? Can I get more then one? When do you make the reservation? Where do you pick it up at? Where do you drop it off at? I have read all of the info but like I said I am so new to Disney World Planning I am lost:scared1:!!! Any help would be much appreciated!!!!:worship:

This swap is not taking new swappers. You can look for other ones though here on the budget board. I believe this swap is closing at the end of this year.

Happy Planning! :)

As Mom Poppins has already said all of the RC stroller swaps are ending between Oct. and Dec. 2009. Only open dates between now and then can be filled by a new swapper.
If you are looking to rent a couple of strollers while you are there and want the convenience of having them dropped off and picked up at your resort there are a couple of rental agencies in Orlando that offer this service.
One of them is www.abbf.com.
Good luck with planning your trip:thumbsup2

Thanks Mom Poppins and Disneynuts777 for keeping up with the thread.

Our son is officially in North Dekota. I'll be blunt...it sucks!;) All of his friends went way out of their way and made his time home extra special. Here is a picture of his last night here-can you tell what they did for the night?:

The gang(notice the dew can...I have great kids!):

Here they are proudly displaying the damage of the night:

My Sons are the one with the black shirt and the one with the ball cap on. They have never taken their "good" trucks to do anything like this. My Dad razzed them into taking the trucks mudding and even made a mud pit for them to do it in on his property. It was so funny listening to them-for over a year they have bragged their trucks up (all four have 2006-2009 trucks) and not one could make it through the pit. Then my 15 yo nephew comes in an old beat up pickup (1986) and not only walked through the pit but pulled all of those high dollar trucks out when they got stuck. Now we all know who has braggin' rights!:rotfl:

Through our goodbye tears-Bootsie said this was the best time he ever had in his life even though he had to admit that FORDS STINK(everyone else was driving a chevy). It really made it hard on him going back.

Anyway...we had a WONDERFUL time (which went way to quickly) and I am back on the boards if anyone needs me. :)

Great pics! Thanks for sharing! God bless Bootsie and keep him safe.

great pics Maddi!!! looks like a whole lot of fun, we used to have a pick up truck and still own our jeep and i just LOVE looking at it full of mud!!

About two children ago, I had a jeep wrangler...now it's a Ford(yes, A FORD) Expidition.

The boys Video taped all the fun for those who couldn't make it. It was sooooooo Funny!!! I thought about putting it on youtube and posting a link BUT even if they are great kids about not drinking...their language leaves alot to be desired.:lmao:

The four in the picture have been BFF since they were 12-13 years old. Bootsie lived with us for quite some time, the short lil one in the grey shirt lived with us occassionally when he was having problems at home, and the one in red...hahahaha he wishes he could live with us but he never had problems at home. He said it stinks that he had good parents.:lmao:

Funny thing...we aren't the cool parents. We are pretty strict with them. No smoking, no drinking, and absolutly no G.D.'s or F Bombs! I go spastic over those two swear words. All the kids know the rules, know we enforce them, and they seem to respect them and us by not breaking them.

Here's a funny story for you, the lil one in the gray shirt (above) at Christmas had just broke up with his girlfriend and was at the house relating the story to all the boys here (DH, Parker, and myself were in the room). He dropped the F bomb in front of us. His eyes grew HUGE as he stopped in mid sentence with the deer in the headlight look. I simply looked at him and said, "so shall it be bar or Liquid?". The other boys started rolling in laughter as the foul mouth one said "Bar please". Parker ran as fast as she could, grabbed the soap and handed it to him. He did it! He bite a hunk of soap off. The boys were rolling, we were rolling and he stood there seeing just how big of soap bubbles he could blow. He is the funniest kid I ever met in my life! (I wouldn't have made him eat soap--I was just trying to scare him yet he ran with it and turned the entire mood around.)

At times, I would love to have a quiet house but then again, if I don't hear from them at least once a week...I really start to worry about them. Crazy huh?

Maddi...the pictures are wonderful. It is nice to put a face to the story. I am sorry that Bootsie is gone but I am glad that you are back on the boards.:goodvibes
At points during the story I wanted to pack up and come and move in with you!!!!:rotfl:

:lmao: You're more than welcome to and guess what? I'm closer to WDW than you are so it is a great plan!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Perfect...I know now when I drive to WDW where to make a pitstop on the way!!! WDW is 27 hours from here so I will definetly need a stop or two along the way!!

Headed to bed. Working both jobs all weekend so I need to go and close my eyes for a couple of hours!!!

Ok...now to a serious issue. I have a firm policy for myself that I keep everything on and upfront with all the swappers. No backroom (PM) things pertaining to the swap as this is the RC community where everyone has a stake in the strollers and the swap.

As some of the swappers know, about two weeks ago we had a swapper who was dropped from the swap because I wasn't able to contact her nor heard from her from the time that Disboards made all the changes 4/21/09 to 5/29/09. Every attempt was made trying to contact this swapper via PM (marked as "Request a read receipt for this message" so I knew when it was read and sending messages through gmail.

On 5/29/09, I started addressing the issue trying to make it work but mainly all attempts wasn't feasable on 5/29/09 as I didn't have two of the 7 days she needed the stroller. She requested a refund of $10 but there is nothing left to refund. I PM'd her again I asked her for a little time since her dates were 5 months away, telling her that I would continue to try to get her in, and we would figure something out that I wouldn't leave her without a stroller. Again my last "Request a read receipt for this message" went unread so I was hoping that she agreed to the request of giving me a little time. We have swappers dropping out at all times and I kept my eyes on all the dates incase her dates opened up.

During this time, I had a couple swappers offer to pay the amount as part of their donation since they either didn't have to pay to get in the swap or from swappers who did pay but was trying to help work out the problem. As per DISBOARDS RULES, I declined those offers because the last thing I want is for anyone to get points for exchanging money between swappers. Not that I didn't appreciate their offer, I just don't want to see anyone get in trouble.

Finally yesterday, 6/10/09, she finally came to the boards and read the message. I could see it wasn't going anywhere positive and ended the PM'ing early in the evening. Today, it started again and a decision was made by me to forward her information to someone who has offered to work out a happy medium with the swapper. This person ISN'T a member of disboards...she is a close friend and co-worker of mine. We talk daily and she knows what type of person I am plus how much this is affecting me. I will be forwarding the swappers name and personal information to her and whatever they work out is between them as I can't seem to make it work for the swapper.

I'm sorry that all attempts wasn't workable for the swapper but am glad to say that the swapper has agreed to this and hopefully things will quickly be worked out between them.

Again, the only reason I am bringing this to the thread is that I have always kept everything open for all the members to read and voice their opinions on. I wasn't about to change this because of this one bad situation but it is now resolved and we can continue to move forward with our swap. :)

First of all -- great pics of your sons and friends. They certainly had a wonderful time.

Second -- that soap story is hilarious!

Third -- I'm glad it worked out that the "unhappy" swapper is now gone. I'd think anyone might be a bit upset that they paid $10 and didn't get in a swap (as of yet), but c'mon...it's $10. Nobody who has a computer should be crying over $10. They didn't uphold their part of the swap so really, they shouldn't get anything back. Just IMHO.

You've gone out of your way to work with them...as you said, it's more than 5 months away and they'd probably get in. They just jumped ship.

But some folks seem to complain since the day they were born...I'm not sure why...

Thanks for the nice words on my son. The stories, I really should start a book on the antics of children. With 5+1 in our family and all of their friends, I could write for the next 10 years about all the the funny things they have done and pay for a Deluxe resort for two weeks easily.

I know what you mean about the swapper...it is upsetting. I'm in the same position with the fridge swap I am in right now. It closed down when the big decision came on Disboards...$10 gone at no doings of my own but I just wrote it off as a learning experince and PM'd the other swaps to get on the back-up list. Sadly though, the dates in question might be coming open as one of the other swappers is still deciding on if they are going at that time due to the economy. She isn't making any definite decisions right now but kingly gave me the head up just incase she had to change her plans. Oh well, hopefully the other swapper can find another stroller for her little ones and have an enjoyable vacation.

OK, story time....
I'm one of those mom's who teach their kids the proper way to do things. So when my eldest DS and his friends wanted to go T.P.ing, I gave them pointers to T.P.ing like only go to ppl you know, only do house you know the ppl won't get to upset, be quiet, take snacks for the outside dog, hide behind bushes not trees because bushes are bigger, etc. Off they went with all their money to buy T.P. and to spend the night at his buddy's house.

Late that night, our dog started barking (which he never does) so DH opens the door to tell the dog to quiet down. There were the boys T.P.ing the big tree right beside the front door. DH yelled "HEY WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING" and those boys scattered. As they drove off, there sat all of their toilet paper in a big box. I think there was over 20 rolls of Toilet paper!

When I asked the boys the next day why they decided to do our house, they replied "we knew you wouldn't get mad and call the cops". Of course, I got blamed for the failed attempt at T.P.ing because I didn't tell them not to do the trees close to the house. Go to find out, they returned and spent an hour in the dark searching for the toilet paper so they could still go T.P.ing. Ironically, DH picked it up and brought it in the house along with the dog(we didn't have to buy toilet paper for months:rotfl:) so their first attempt of T.P.ing was a bust.

Silly kids!

Just wanted to say you are doing a great job. I am sorry a swapper has given you trouble and know there is not much I can do, but do offer you my full support! You do a great job, keeping this swap going.

And Kuddos to your son for his service to OUR COUNTRY!!!

And as far as T.P. ing.....one of my favorite pasttimes. :lmao: Although I have not been in a long time. I think the last time I went we took my only daughter at the time and left her asleep in the car (she was about 2 years old and don't worry I could see the car) Let me explain, my husband is a student minister so we were with a group of kids from our church. I miss those days! We have moved now and the town we live in now knows nothing of T.P.ing, what a tragedy.....:sad2:

hehehe now that's funny. What a great opportunity for you in the new town....You have an entire town to break in with the T.P. ritual!

Well dear swappers...we have finally become famous! (not us directly but as close as it can get)

from an article on MSN:

The unofficial Disney online guide at http://www.wdwinfo.com/ has good discussion boards for planning every aspect of your trip, including a "budget board" where you can get tips on everything from where to buy Disney souvenirs to deals on airfare. You can even orchestrate a "stroller swap" with other families — a stroller is donated and passed from one vacation family to the next.

:) who knows, maybe some will read it and come to the boards to start more free swaps. Wouldn't that be nice to see more fridge and stroller swaps for the DISBOARD members?
