OOHHHH....I love story time!!!! It is really the best laugh I sometimes get all day:goodvibes Please keep them coming. It can literally change my mood in a heartbeat:thumbsup2

And I truly belive that you did everything that you could to make it work out for the unhappy swapper. I know that your heart is totally into these swaps. Why else would you spend so much time here!!!

WHAT?!?!?!?!:scared1::scared1::scared1: I'm a little offended - ha-ha! (look at my avatar) Once he adjusts to being here, I think he might actually like the wide-open spaces. Does he like to fish or hunt?

Wahoooo...someone close who can check on my son!!! I'm a happy Momma now! Mind you this is a kid who HATES snow and he is in North Dekota. You guys get more snow than we do!

He loves to fish but we don't allow him to play with guns after he shot Mikie(the lil one in the gray shirt). We even took his water guns away!

Story time....

At one time, both the boys (bootsie and Mikie) were living with us, they were both 16 at the time. They took my 12yo DS's BB gun out to shoot sparrows. As a joke, I told them use caution and not shoot each other's eyes out(like Ralph in the movie). Away they went and occassionally I would here, "got one!"

They are outside goofing off and next time I know I hear the 4-wheel start up. Not a biggie, they were always zipping around on the thing so I went about my business of cleaning house. About 15 minutes later, I hear the 4 wheel's engine shut off and both boys come in the house and heard straight for the kitchen. Ok...teenagers...endless pits...fridge is full, so I figure they are raiding the fridge. Within a minute, out they come and Mikie has a fridge magnet stuck to his left eyebrow-literally hanging there-and says, "Mom, do you think this looks wierd?" I was like what in the heck are you doing and yes it looks dumb. Mikie and Bootsie crack up and say, "well, don't look under the magnet cause what we just did was really dumb." I walk over and take the magnet off Mikie's eyebrow and there is was a perfect lil hole. Yep, Bootsie shot Mikie with the B.B. Gun and just missed his eye by 1/2 inch!

Go to find out, they grew bored with just shooting sparrow and decided that one of them would ride around the house on the 4-wheeler and the other one would try shooting him in the butt. The plan worked perfectly well when Bootsie was riding the 4 wheeler...he was standing up and zipping around the house as Mikie tried and succeeded in shooting him in the butt. When it was Mikie's turn all was well until Mikie hit a bump, sat down so he could get a better balance on the 4 wheeler. The split second he sat down, Bootsie shot the B.B. gun and instead of the butt, he almost shot Mikies eye out.

Of course...it was all funny haha until I told them Mikie needed to go to the Hospital to get it removed. The laughter stopped and you could have heard a cricket! They tried squeezing it out but anyone knows the minute you poke a hole in skin the tissue around it swells up. It might of went in that hole but it definitely wasn't coming out that hole. I had to have DH come in and he made them call Mikie's parents and go to the hospital. So when Mikie calls his parents, he tells them a really short version...Bootsie accidently shot him and he needed to go to the hospital. Both boys loaded up and away they went to meet Mikie's parent at the hospital.

2 hours later, back they come laughing their butts off again. Of course they tell the story of Mikie laying there cutting jokes with the Nurses and Dr. until they come out with this HUGE needle--had to be 16 inches long--and pointing it towards Mikie face. Mikie goes white, Bootsie is forever saying "I'm sorry Mikie, I'm so sorry" over and over again then finally said, "but man am I glad it is you and not me by the size of that needle" as the Dr is putting it in!

And the story they told Mikie's parents-who to this day still think it is the truth-they were trying to be nice to me and since the birds were forever pooping on my truck they decided to shoot the birds. One of the birds landed on the swing set, Bootsie shot at it, missed and the B.B. ricoched off the swing set and hit Mikie. OMG..this was a B.B. gun not a pump pellet gun! But his parents bought it and they were off the hook.

As for DH and I, they were never allowed to play with any type a gun here again...Pellet, B.B., water gun, styrofoam dart gun, and no fingers making an imaginary gun.

Bootsie was sooooo excited about North Dekota-it has a firing range so he gets to shoot a gun. Heaven forbid! I really need to call his recuiter and tell him to make sure all the other young boys have football helmets because bootsie doesn't know the difference between a butt and a head hence the nickname DH call's him "BUTTHEAD"

Ohhh and MIkie finally did get shot in the butt----by the dr with a tetnus shot!

HAHAHA...I have a million of them! These kids are sooooo funny when they aren't trying to shoot each other.

At 16, you would have thought they would know better!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Maddi, your stories are killing me :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Keep em coming!!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

I am so proud of you! you have handled this swap beautifully so far and i know it could not be carried off without you!!! I am sorry about the "upset" swapper and i am glad it seems to be getting worked out.:hug:

MMMMMMMM I get to make ressies about 5 days before you. This might be work. Since I won't be making any ressies for the 24th...I can try to get Le Celliers for you. It will be my 90+10 so there might be a good chance of it since I'm calling early that morning. I think all you will need to do is give them my name and confirmation # since I won't be there. I sure can try to get that one for you! I might be able to get you CRT too! We aren't making a ressie that day for noon. More like 6pm so I might be able to pull that one off too since it will be my 90+9 day.

WAHOOOO I think this is going to work. I wonder if they check room keys? I know they haven't in the pass so if it is the same, all you need is the last name and confirmation number.

I'll let you know on the 17th if I got them for you:thumbsup2

Hopefully someone will be able to help me for these ones:
9/15 Chef Mickeys at 8pm
9/16 Donald's Safari at 8AM
9/18 Momma Melrose Fantasmic Dinner.

Looks as though it would be renae0118, goff1029, or Jazzi2259. Might have to PM them. :)

So what does everyone think? Could this be the Royal Carriages solution to the ADR Problem?

I am not even making my own reservation but I will try to make some for you

About two children ago, I had a jeep wrangler...now it's a Ford(yes, A FORD) Expidition.

The boys Video taped all the fun for those who couldn't make it. It was sooooooo Funny!!! I thought about putting it on youtube and posting a link BUT even if they are great kids about not drinking...their language leaves alot to be desired.:lmao:

The four in the picture have been BFF since they were 12-13 years old. Bootsie lived with us for quite some time, the short lil one in the grey shirt lived with us occassionally when he was having problems at home, and the one in red...hahahaha he wishes he could live with us but he never had problems at home. He said it stinks that he had good parents.:lmao:

Funny thing...we aren't the cool parents. We are pretty strict with them. No smoking, no drinking, and absolutly no G.D.'s or F Bombs! I go spastic over those two swear words. All the kids know the rules, know we enforce them, and they seem to respect them and us by not breaking them.

Here's a funny story for you, the lil one in the gray shirt (above) at Christmas had just broke up with his girlfriend and was at the house relating the story to all the boys here (DH, Parker, and myself were in the room). He dropped the F bomb in front of us. His eyes grew HUGE as he stopped in mid sentence with the deer in the headlight look. I simply looked at him and said, "so shall it be bar or Liquid?". The other boys started rolling in laughter as the foul mouth one said "Bar please". Parker ran as fast as she could, grabbed the soap and handed it to him. He did it! He bite a hunk of soap off. The boys were rolling, we were rolling and he stood there seeing just how big of soap bubbles he could blow. He is the funniest kid I ever met in my life! (I wouldn't have made him eat soap--I was just trying to scare him yet he ran with it and turned the entire mood around.)

At times, I would love to have a quiet house but then again, if I don't hear from them at least once a week...I really start to worry about them. Crazy huh?

Not crazy, that is what Mom's do ( at least the good ones)

/
Jazzi...if you don't mind, I would love to have these ones (3 ppl).

9/15 at 8pm or later-Chef Mickeys at the contempory
9/16 at 6:30-7pm-Ohana at the Poly
9/17 at 5-6:30pm-Crystal Palace at MK

We changed things around a little. But if you could get these, that would be awesome. You're 90 mark is....6/14/09....TOMORROW...Lucky you!

Thank you for trying to help me score these ressies.

We have never been to Disney so we have a Travel Agent is handling everything.
This is what we are hoping to get:
Sep 12 Chef Mickey's
Sep 13 Hollywood & Vine
Sep 14 Crystal Place
Sep 15 Ohana
Sep 16 Cape May Café
Sep 17 Raglan Road Irish Pub
Sep 18 Boma

I see that we have a couple of the same restaurants so I guess I picked some good one.

I see that it is still open june 16-24....is there any way we can be a part of this? Also I see from previous posts about character meals...where is the best character lunch for a 5 and 3 year old? That sounds fun since I have never heard of one at Disneyland our home resort.

Pm's went out on 5/22 and it says you read it on 5/25. You're good as far as the PMs. :)

#5 is great as far as I know. DebraW76, the original swap host of #5, is using it right now. I haven't heard from her so I'll say all is good.

I know about all about T-shirts. I've got my designs (thanks to the creative thread and the wonderful Dis Designers there) and ideas about tie-dying but just to get them done...lol.

Have a great trip!!

Yeah!!! Thanks for the quick response! Just checkin' in, in case I had missed somethin' somewhere. Once school gets out, I lose track of days, times...and so on...if only it lasted!!!:rotfl:

Have been busy with the kids, library book club, swimming at the pool, cleaning house:eek: and getting ready for VBS (craft leader, double ). Anywho...thanks for the update and can't wait to meet the Mouse!!!

:woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2::wizard:

Wahoooo...someone close who can check on my son!!! I'm a happy Momma now! Mind you this is a kid who HATES snow and he is in North Dekota. You guys get more snow than we do!

Is he in Minot or Grand Forks? If you are ever in a bind, feel free to contact me. This last year sucked (can I say that?? :confused3) for winter. The last few winters we haven't had much snow, but still horribly cold, but this last year made up for it. Right now the weather is absolutely perfect at 78 degrees so I hope he is enjoying it.

On a side note:rolleyes1 I had a garage sale today and made $750! This goes in the Disney fund for a return trip hopefully the first week in December. I am oh, so crossing my fingers for free Dining either as a special promotion or by way of the Disney Visa.

Yep, he is in Grand Forks. I talked to him today and he really likes it so far. Says the weather is really nice and it's warm.

Shoot you guys are warmer than we are, what is up with that!

Tell me, what is a decent Airport to fly into? His airline ticket was $700 :scared1: of course being Air Force, it was like a week's notice and they will reimburse him (at least that is what he told us).

Anyway, that was straight into Grand Forks. Is there a different airport that might be cheaper to fly into and we could rent a car to drive to Grand Forks on a short notice. We are slowly learning the Air Force game...lol (don't tell you a thing until the last minute and then rush rush to make it happen)

Yep, I just checked and nope you didn't get one....yet....lol

You Pm'd me on the 20th to join and I put you in the two days later. The monthly check Pm's went out on the 22nd too, so I didn't send you one. A) either it was because you had just joined or B) I put you in immediately after sending out the PMs.

Either way, you're fine. :) You pop on the thread often enough that I know you still need the stroller. It's just when I don't see or hear from ppl that I get worried because they have either cancelled their vacation and forgot about the swap (has happened many times) or they aren't true DIS'ers and found us through one of the other sites.:scared1:

The one (and only one!;)) bad thing about North Dakota is the lack of cheap air travel. The other major city is Fargo which is a little over an hour south of Grand Forks, but those prices still aren't cheap, but I think you might have other options besides flying Northwest/Delta. The major hub is Minneapolis where you can get any airline you want at decent prices, but that is about a 6 hour drive.

:scared1: 6 hours! Shoot it's only about 12 from home. Then again, if I can save $400 it might be an option for us. You know the silly goose (and I'm not really trying to knock ND) had a choice of Hawaii, ND, and I think the 3rd one was somewhere in the south. He decided ND because it was only 12 hours and maybe on we could see him more often. My thinking was....why not Hawaii and let's really call it a vacation.:rotfl:

He does think it is pretty out there. He's a country boy so this is right up his alley. Weekends he has off and he has called 5 times today...lonely? Bored? Homesick? not really sure but I can tell he is in just about the same shape we are in...sad. That's when I started thinking about a short trip one weekend to ND for us but the airfare--OUCH!

It takes us 21 hours to drive to Orlando and I got tickets R/T for $139. It's 12 hours to Grand Forks and the cheapest I found was $638 today on a short notice type ticket. Once Jet America get up and running to Toledo to Minneapolis, I can get fares for $39 then just purchase a ticket from Minneapolis to Grand Forks but that won't be until the end of August.

I guess he is just going to get alot of care packages and DVDs from home....lol
