ok...we have 17 swappers who haven't read their PM's. I've sent out an email to them. Five days from today, I will be redoing the calendar as we do need active and committed DIS'ers for this swap to continue.

Also, on the Calendar...you will notice dates that are BOLD RED AND UNDERLINES Looking for stroller sitters for those dates.

For clarification:

If you were already in the swap before the rule changes...you are fine. The new post/tenure rule only applies to new swappers.

The only ppl who have been removed are the ones who I have sent PM's to and they went unread for 3+ weeks. If you haven't been on DISBOARDS in three weeks and have low posts, you will be removed.

I will be doing this once a month just to insure that swappers are indeed still wanting to use the strollers AND they are active members of DISBOARDS. Sorry if this upsets someone, but my main concern is the welfare of the strollers AND the swappers after you.

I would love to say it will be in perfect condition but I'll just cross my fingers. Everyone has been very open to donating so with everyone's help and faith, the strollers will be there in working order.

When we make it to the last swapper, I'd like to donate them, if anyway possible, to a children's home or battered woman/homeless shelter. Somewhere that the magic will continue for another family with children or children without parents. But we will cross that bridge when we get closer to December.

I've got a bigger fish to fry right now, I still have 20 ppl who haven't read the PM about monthly PMs and that really bothers me. 4 days to the 10 day mark

Keep your fingers crossed that everyone Pops on DISBOARDS soon!

Did you check your PM's that have been sent to you? Over the last month there have been changes and if you did not respond you were dropped from the swap.

I'm completely sick over what is happening to the swap. Daily, I am rec'ving PMs with DIS'ers backing out because they are worried about the strollers when they get there. I'm trying to keep everyone updated on the conditions and so are the previous swappers. I'm truly sorry the swap is going in a backwar direction.

I'm going to try to get everything worked out so the strollers aren't in Luggage services more than 10 days. SO we won't have to worry about one becoming disposed of for being there to long.

Hang in there swappers, don't jump the boat, a little faith, a little luck, and the awesome swappers we have...the strollers will be fine when it is your turn to use them!

Seriously, the rain cover RYAN 840 donated to stroller #1 was a blessing. It got so much use while I had RC #1 from May 19-23. As of that time, the seats both had tears in them (I sewed these - not a great job but functioned great), the sunroof plastic was really torn, and the handle was not in great shape. I think those were the main issues. The good news - the stroller handled great!

Thanks for the use of this stroller!

I've been keeping my eye on this opening. I am going to be at Kidani June 11-17th and am taking my own double stroller, so I don't need to use one, but I am willing to keep it in our room if it needs a sitter (and will take it to POR on the evening of the 16th).

We are "officially" in the swap in October and although I'm taking our stroller then as well I am not dropping out because I know we want to keep them out of storage.

So I am PM'ing parkers momma If you need a sitter and debraw76 can get it to Kidani I will keep it for a few days (and won't use it - so no additional wear and tear )

It shouldnt matter, she paid her money, she should have the stroller. This really has gotten crazy, you cant change the rules on her mid stream like was done, it had nothing to do with the whole money thing that the mods imposed, who ever got her spot didnt pay a dime and should be bumped back off.

For those of you who are hoping to get into a swap and unable to due to low posts or dates taken, etc - have you looked into Orlando Stroller Rentals? They are around $80 or so for a whole week - way cheaper than Disney prices and the deliver and pick up right at your resort! Just another option of the swap doesn't work out!

We leave in less 12 hours!!!! DS has had too many tantrums to count today--so I am really anxious out how this will go. But, here we go....


And, i can't just ignore the issues going on above. There are a lot of parts to this issue, but I can tell you that I paid into this swap the day the mods said to stop. But I got a great feeling and sense of community from MOST members of this board and it became contagious. I have also purchased a basket and canopy for one of the stollers, because this is one of the greatest ideas ever!!! but has become a handful. All of my out of pocket is still cheaper than any other way of getting a stoller for my 3 kids. Parkers*momma has done the best she can to be fair with the changes from the mods and if you dont like it, keep it in a pm because the rest of us enjoy coming to this board and seeing all its POSITIVE effects on people and thier magical vacations...

Just FYI... I believe you are referring to me.......I did pay, and I payed early. (like Feb) but was in swap #3, but because of the condition of stroller 3, Maddi moved me to the other swap. The rules have changed, and the disboard is who changed them. Maddi has done a great job doing the best she can with what she has to work with. I love Disney and I love the Disboards but come on give her a break. Maddi (and others) are doing this out of their love for WDW and others too. All of the rest of us, got her PM's and emails and knew what had happened and what was going on. It just makes me mad when people go spouting things they obviously don't know.

Honestly, not worth it guys. Dont yall go sniping at each other over $20. I mailed the $20 out the day that the mods had announced no more money could exchange hands, I could have told Maddi to refund it right away per the new rules, but I didnt, it isnt a big deal. No I didnt pm a mod or the webmaster, if the money is gone it is gone.

I have my baby on the way and all is right in the world ( except no WDW. That is all the matters to me.

This is getting crazy...you are right katiesmommy.

But incase anyone is wondering, I have dates available for octoberbabies but waiting once again for her to read her PM to know if it will work for her. It's been unread for a couple days but I was right on it the day it happened.

I've also added those who removed from the swap who PM'd me. But I have had 4 who never read any of the PM's-never came back to Disboards and read PM's from 4/23 who should have already had the stroller. If I wouldn't have went pro-active in protecting the strollers--then what? Lost/misplaced strollers?? 30 ppl with a stroller in that swap?? I have to do what I have to do to get to the end of the year. If it means removing ppl after a month of not reading a PM-And I do also email them at the end of the 10 days plus PM them two more times before they are removed, then that is what I have to do.

I won't even go into the money issue except to say..There is none. It's all went into keeping these strollers up and running. I mailed the last 4 items out of my pocket and will continue to do so if I have to order parts out of my pocket to keep these strollers up and running. I don't want to but I am a person of my word...I don't want to let anyone down, that is a priority for me.

I'm sorry things have happened they way they have, I guess I should have just shut down the swap and walked away just as so many of the other swaps did. But I didn't--though it could have easliy been done--I "CHOSE" to fight for every person in the swap. Trust me, this isn't an easy thing to manage--I spend hours trying to figure ways to get us to the end.

Now, my son is home from the Air Force and I have 8 days left with him and would like to spend that time with him without worrying about fighting and sniping on the thread.

Just because I am not posting on the thread doesn't mean I'm not trying to work things out with ppl in the background. I still average 6-10 PMs a day with issues, changed dates, getting removed swappers back in, new swappers in, etc.

And I'm sure when octoberbabies gets around to coming to Disboards and reads her PM, we can get things worked out. Just waiting on her to read her PM and things should be taken care of. I'm not out to screw anyone, just trying to protect the strollers for everyone.

The idea of passing these strollers on to women in need after the swap is over will be a wonderful thing.

Also, if you need us to stroller sit while we are there in November, just let me know. We're only there 5 days (BLT) but if it helps, we're available.

Parkers*Momma is doing an awesome job. I can tell you it is not easy. After taking over someone else's swap for awhile.......honestly I would never do it again. It is time consumming and many days totally frustrating.
I think she has given everyone plenty of time to get in touch,etc....
Even now she is bending over backwards to make sure things get worked out.

Parkers*Momma......enjoy the rest of your time with your son.
You should not have to worry about other "grown-ups" sniping because they have failed on there end to keep in touch.

Yes...she paid her money just as others have. If you look at the swaps alot of people have been juggled around because #3 is out of service for the summer. Most of them paid as well. Not many new swappers have joined since it became free.
