Just wanted to let everyone know that #1 and #2 now or shortly will have the new seats on them. They were shipped down the first of the week so they should be taken care of shortly.

I'm waiting to hear from a swapper what is exactly wrong with #4. I've had reports of wobbling--some say it is the tire...another said the rim and nothing was wrong with the tire at all...and yet another said it is the axle/rod. So instead of sending the tire/tube down just to find out that wasn't the problem and having it mailed back to me...I asked the current swapper's DH to access the situation as he is good at fixing things. Once I know EXACTLY what the issue is, I'll go from there.

#3 is safely in Saremmon's DM hands and the tire will be on it's way to Florida shortly...YEA!

#5 is fine from last reports. DebraW76 is heading down soon...a bitter sweet moment for her. She is the original swap leader of #5...the last one to use it before it officially becomes a ROYAL CARRIAGE stroller. Thank yiou Debra for everything you have done for the swap. You have been a great leader and a fantastic swapper. I know..lol...man do I know...it isn't an easy job at times but I personally appreciate you donating the stroller to the RC swap. Hopefully we can continue until that very last swapper gets to use it in December, just as your swappers have since the day you began the swap.

Ok...currently these are the items that have been mailed back to me from resorts. These items have been left in rooms, lost in storage, etc.. As soon as I find out what each swap has, I'll mail these things out. I have:

A sunshade
A storage bag
Another storage bag
A rain cover
and a couple ponchos still in the pouches.

I think that is all for now. Off to feed the crew...they want homemade pizza. I have forgotten how much teenage boys can eat but remembering quickly while DS is home.:lmao:

When I had RC 2 it didn't have a storage bag and I thought it was supposed too, so I'm thinking one of the storage bag goes to RC 2. I know it also had a couple ponchos in it two one was orange and one was clear. Maybe this will help sort a couple of things out. Good luck and great job with running this swap.:goodvibes

We need a stroller June 13th-20th. Can we reserve #1?

thanks!

Please read the FIRST post on this thread. It has really important information. In regard to your request:

(Copied from first post)
As of 4/21/09, We do ask that you have been a member of DISBOARDS for at least 6 months and have 75 post to plus staying ONSITE to participate in our swap.. Just as you don't know us, we don't know you. Sadly, this decision was made due to the recent issues caused by people joining DISBOARDS just for a "free" stroller. We aren't trying to be unfriendly towards new DIS'ers, we are just looking out for the best welfare of our strollers.

thanks!

I'm sorry livibug but when all the changes happened in April, I emailed everyone in the swap to get their impressions of what we needed to do to keep this swap going until December. One of the things was tenure and post count. With that in mind, a rule was created and all new swappers need at least 75 posts and be a member of Disboards for at least 6 months before they can be added to the swap.

You might want to check with some of the other swaps or maybe one of the stroller rental companies in Orlando. They will deliver and pick-up strollers at a minimal cost compared to Disney.

Good Luck and have a wonderful time at WDW

I would like to remind SOME of you that part of joining a swap is keeping up with the thread so that you are aware of what is going on. For those of you who didn't do that, you need to accept what we all agreed to. When the DIS changed the rules, WE ALL came together as an RC community and agreed how to go forward.

WE agreed to continue the swap with members donating any parts needed to keep the swap going until the end.
WE agreed that existing members must respond to PMs/emails to ensure the community that they were dedicated to the RC swap and not just in it for an inexpensive stroller
WE agreed to require any new swappers to have a certain number of posts and tenure to be able to join.

Since the changes, WE have all been working together very nicely - and the RC swap has continued (miracuously!!!!). Parkers*Momma has been so kind in continuing to help us organize this.

It is unfortunate that the swap has not been able to continue as it was originally set up, but I think that was a risk WE were all willing to take when we signed up.

I'm sorry if I sound a bit irritated. Please understand that it is the minority that has spurred me to write this post. The rest of you, well, you know how I feel about you - YOU ALL ROCK!!!!

Thank you Nelep...I couldn't have said it better. Here is a condensed refresher of the main rules:

As of 4/21/09, We do ask that you have been a member of DISBOARDS for at least 6 months and have 75 post to plus staying ONSITE to participate in our swap.

It would be up to the members to donate anything needed to keep the strollers in good working condition. Donations are the only way the swap can continue.

Once a month, I will be sending out PMs to see if you still need the strollers and an active member on DISBOARDS. If a PM remains UNREAD, you do have a chance of losing your spot.

If you are removed, the swap closed, a stroller lost, etc. I can't be held responsible nor will refunds be given as the swap has nothing left.

You MUST contact the person before and after you to make arrangements for the swap at least three weeks prior to the swapper before you is leaving. Include your name, cell phone number, place to meet, and any other important information so you can identify each other or where to leave the stroller if you can not do a face to face swap.

(IF YOU ARE LEAVING THE STROLLER IN LUGGAGE SERVICES) Please attach the incoming swappers name, check-in date, and reservation number ON the stroller. Get a Claim ticket....very important....and contact the incoming swapper with the claim ticket information. PLEASE PLEASE do not let WDW transfer it to another resort.

(INCOMING SWAPPER WHEN THE STROLLER IS IN LUGGAGE SERVICES) Be polite, calm, and persistent if they come back empty handed. If all else fails, ask the Cast Member if you can look for it.

NEVER LEAVE IT IN YOUR ROOM FOR THEM TO TAKE TO LUGGAGE SERVICES. MOUSEKEEPING DISPOSES EVERYTHING THAT IS LEFT IN THE ROOMS NO MATTER IF IT IS TAGGED FOR ANOTHER SWAPPER.

I insist that if you are pulling out of the swap that you give me at least a 3 week notice. You also agree to notify me if anything happens with the swap, or while you have the stroller. Additionally, you agree to clean (sanitize if necessary) the stroller, before you swap it. You also agree to make every effort to do the swap as arranged.

These are the main ones. Some where the inital rules to the swap when I took over as the swap host. Others were added from the feedback I recieved from the members of our community as a result of the Disboards changes pertaining to swaps on 4/21/09.

Please remember we are in this for the long haul. When we decided to keep the swap open it was for good or bad, we were going to try to make it until the last paid swapper used the strollers.

Also, just to let everyone know...I do not just send one PM before removing swappers. There is atleast 3 times. Each has a deadline-One with 10 days, one with 5 days, another with 5 days. With the April PM, I even emailed everyone asking them to please come to Disboards to read their PMs so everyone knew of the new rules implimented. Out of those 17 ppl I emailed (who surpassed the third deadline), I did have 7 swapper I listed on the thread saying they had two days. In the end, I removed 3 swappers. One actually is leaving in 10 days and still hasn't read any of their PM's so I don't know if they are no longer going to WDW or they have forgotten about the swap. All I know is that the swapper before them was leaving and frantically trying to reach them and I had to make a judgement call.

Right now, even though everyone knows there are monthly PMs checks, I have 12 swappers that haven't read their PM's and it's been 9 days. On tuesday, the 11 day mark I'll send another PM, and 6 days later yet another PM. The reason for so many PM's--because at least one of the three has to make it. I know personally that the PM system does have occassional glitches..it's a machine for heaven's sake...but I can't see the odds of it glitching on the same swapper all three times.;)

I honestly HATE removing swappers but ppl forget about the swap if they cancel their vacations. It's happened in the past and I've had to frantically work to get a new connection going between swappers at the last minute. Actually with the monthly PM's, it has made my job a little easier because it reminds everyone to contact the person before and after them plus weeds out cancelled trips. I bet I had a dozen swappers who cancelled due to cancelled trips with the first PM. We had completely slipped their minds.

As of today, we have less than 6 months to get to the end. WAHOOOOO...the strollers seem to be doing good (KNOCK ON WOOD), you the Swappers have been awesome stepping up to the plate to help with organizing, donating, and moral support, and things seem to be falling into place. GREAT JOB EVERYONE! I really am impressed how awesome everyone has been in helping to see this to the end.

Thanks Nelep for the summary:goodvibes
Parker*Momma the swaps will make it to the end. We have all come together to make it work. Your hard work and dedication is paying off.
Now go and enjoy your family time and get off the boards!!!
I am off to try and fix the central -vac.....I hope:rotfl:

HAHAHA...they are either STILL sleeping or off seeing friends.

My 16yo and his friends were up till 6am...gaming and watching movies.

AFDS and his buddies hung out here until about 1am then went...well heavens knows where and came in about 4am

Parker and the grandbabies (yes, I had all the grandbabies last night too) are outside playing and decorating the driveway with chalk.

DH says he thinks it is time we move and forget to tell everyone where!:lmao:

All in all last night we had 16 kids at the house. You are going to love this...I made 2-12x18, 2-9x12 and 3-round pizza pans of pizza and there wasn't a single slice left. Plus they went through almost 2-24 pks of pop. This morning I went through 3 dozen scrambled eggs and two loaves of bread.

MAN CAN THESE BOYS EAT!

Our vacation is from June 21-28. We aren't using a Royal Carriage- but I purchased a raincover for the double stroller we are renting. I don't need the cover after the trip so I would be happy to leave it at the Poly for one of the swappers to pick up. If you want it please pm me with your information. I may have cup holders too!!

That is very nice of you!! Hopefully one of the swappers will take a moment to pick the items up.

THANK YOU Sam's Mom for thinking of us and have a wonderful time on your trip!

That's a fabulous idea!!!! I think TLC should do a show about Parkers*Momma running the RC swap AND trying to work a full time job AND trying to have a life! I know I would tune in! About a month ago I couldn't tear myself away from the drama :rotfl2:

As long as I could time shift it to watch it at some ridiculous hour I'd be all over it!!!!!!!:lmao::lmao:

Finally got the central -vac fixed:goodvibes Was also able to go and dig up a 1000 pavers from my sister's driveway at her new house that they were going to throw out and bring them to my house. Yeah...now I can interloc my walkway this year instead of next;)

Seriously, you need to get a DVR!!! I never watch shows when they are actually on. Always late at night or while I sip my coffee after DD7 gets on the bus. Oh, but that will be over Wednesday. DANG!

1000 ??!!!!! Wow! Do you have muscles like Popeye! You do now! But that's a huge freebie! Those pavers cost a lot! Our patio looks great but at least 1 of my DDs won't be attending college! :rotfl2:

yeah, we just switched to FIOS with DVR this year and it has totally changed the way I watch TV now -- I watch some shows after I put my girls to bed!

1000 pavers -- oh, you're aching back and shoulders!

So....I am pretty new to all of this. I have been reading all the negative posts on here. I am shocked that people can be so rude over this. I agree with what many have said before....it is an AMAZING service for those involved....and a risky one. Strollers have issues, parts break, DIS changes the rules, etc. But never for one second has Parkers*momma threw her hands up in the air and walked away....even though I am sure there have been several times it would have been the easy thing to do. Instead, she has toughed it out for the sake of everyone in the swap. God bless this woman!!! Also, THANK YOU, Nelep and Disneynuts777, for your help in keeping this going. And as for all the whining....PUT YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES ON AND DEAL WITH IT! On a happy note....we leave for my kids first *surprise* Disney trip in one month.....WOOOHOOOO!!!!! :cloud9:

Also, Parkers*Momma....Please tell your son THANK YOU for his service to our country!! I am so very thankful..... :flower3:

:lmao:

One month is coming up fast! Make sure you read the tips on the first page of the thread, post #9 I think. I want to go back sooooo bad. But it will be a couple of years :scared1: I don't know if I can stand it!

Have fun in the last few weeks of planning! YIPPPEEEEEE!

I am so excited...but very nervous at the same time. I am such a planner, which drives my DH a little nutty at times. ;) I have been trying to get tips from everywhere. There is soooo much out there and I must admit....it gets a little overwhelming at times. I just want to make sure my kids get to have as much fun as possible. So I will plan and map it out to the best of my (small) knowledge...and go from there. It has been quite sometime since my DH and I were at Disney...so I am quite sure A LOT has changed. Any tips on the MUST-DO's for a 7 yr. old boy :smickey: and a 3 yr. old girl...who will turn 4 while we are there! ::MinnieMo

This mommy needs all the help she can get! :rotfl:
