'Course, the Board did remove Eisner from the Chairman position in response to the shareholder actions led by those two former directors.

I knew silliness was contagious among children, but who knew it was the same with board members?

Yes.

My point is that writing off the beliefs/actions of two former board members as silliness simply because they are not a part of the board is ridiculous.

Write it off on the true merits, or lack thereof, of the their arguments if you wish.

From bicker's last post:

The silliness I was referring to is the sour grapes of two former Directors, thinking they knew better than the rest of the Board.

I will retract if necessary, but I'm pretty sure bicker's problem is not so much with the lack of results achieved by SaveDisney, but moreso with the fact that they thought they knew better than the Board in the first place, and took actions to that effect.

Generally speaking, I agree with your takes that they didn't achieve nearly as much as they could have, and should have.

So, Scoop, you believe the transition from Eisner to Iger would have happened when it did, regardless of Roy and Stan's actions?

I don't know. Without the pressure applied by SaveDisney I think Eisner would have held out until his contract expired in 2006.

Now, it may turn out that Iger is no better than Eisner, but having the transition happen sooner rather than later is worth something, no?

Hey, I personally think that without the "Silliness" that Roy and Stan raised, the board would have renewed Ei$ner's(Tm DVCLandBaron) contract. That is JMHO.

WDC has to appear strong enough to wind up on top. It is a lot of image. I think Roy got more than it appears like on the surface... Again, JMHO!!!

Roy got back in to save face and that's it. If Eisner still wanted to be "King" he still would be, no matter what 'Save Disney' wanted but he's getting older, he's tired of the crap, he was immortalized in 'Shrek' and he has more money than God...It's time for Disney to move on. Eisner recognized this, Iger paid his dues and Roy's back on board. All is happy in the Kingdom.

All's happy in the kingdom??? I disagree. "All's swept under the rug in the kingdom...for now" would be more accurate.

One Thing I bet we ALL can agree on... We will probably never know the true nature of the deal!
