Fun story...The hawks invited kiddo to come sit in the cup in their locker room when she was 1. She won a contest for basically cutest hockey kid in the world (really) and got the honor. Met Dennis Savard and Pat Foley. She's been back for her cup time and will get to come back as long as they win again (this year seems good.) We even got our very own jumbo-tron video for a few months. #mombrag

That's awesome, but I'm pretty sure she only one because my kiddo wasn't in the contest, mostly due to not being in existence at the time.



You can see his "wings" sticking out as this was pre-haircut at the Harmony Barbershop. It was so long that many of the characters thought he was a little princess. Princess Elena told him he reminded her of her sister, Isabel, so he had to pull her hair.

And you are right, those blackhawks are stupid.....STUPID AWESOME...STUPID RIDICULOUS...eh, you get the point.

Nope, the are just stupid. No additional qualifiers needed.

I hope if ya'll win the first round that you at least get rid of any blue or yellow scum along the way.

We'll do what we can. As long as you lose before you get to playing the Wild.

I figured it was in good fun. No offense was taken. I'm a big boy and can handle a little ribbing. I'm just a fringe hockey fan, not being from Minnesota originally. I grew up in Maryland, and while we had the Caps near by they were never that big of a deal. Though I have to say I'm liking my teams this year. The Caps leading all teams in points, the Wild recently dropped to second in the west, and my college, the University of Minnesota Duluth, sitting third in the nation and spending much of the season as the number one team in the country.

I was actually hoping you all would have beat the Caps because then it would have kept them farther out of the "winning the presidents trophy" and even though it would put the Wild closer, it would still give the Hawks a sniff at it. Ah well.
Also I am glad TJ Oshie is out of the Western Conference. Now if we face him the playoffs vs the Caps there will be no shootout.

And if we get ousted, I miiiight root for you all but kind of like this...

I have no babies to share, but lots of hockey thoughts. If rooting for the Blackhawks is important, I am willing to do so, unless they're playing the Rangers. I will most definitely root for them if they're playing a team that's ahead of the Rangers in the standings. Because I need those teams to lose, because the Rangers sometimes seem to forget how to win. Grr.

Also, my brother's friend (who lives in St. Louis) used to be obsessed with TJ Oshie. I think that trade made him very sad.

I really started getting into hockey in the early 90's, so I remember watching the Rangers vs the Canucks cup final very intently that year. We didn't have hawk games on tv back then (crazy, right) so playoffs was all I had to watch. If I didn't have a weird crush on Pavel Bure from Vancouver I may have been happier for the Rangers win.

TJ Oshie is a real American hero!!! (even though we didn't win an Olympic gold last time, he did help us to beat Russia one time in the shootout.) I was happy he is no longer a Blue for rivalry reasons.

I'm distracting myself from the thought of my tempo run coming up tonight (which I will CRUSH...hopefully)

Can we play a short game of "Does this match?" I know I should just be patient and wait for my skirt to come in the mail next week to see for myself, but I'm not patient. I'd of course have the waistband covered up with the shirt.

QOTD: When someone offers unsolicited comments about your weight and your mid-section area while minding your own business eating lunch...how do you keep from going into an emotional caccoon while feeling like all this hard work isn't even worth it?
I did just laugh it off out loud and agree with the person so that I could get out and away from the conversation as soon as possible (I'm so non-confrontational), but now I'm feeling sad and bitter...sad + bitter = bad.
I know a lot of people talk about their weight struggles out loud but I do not because I've been kind of proud of my progress so I feel knocked down a peg. Also I wish people didn't assume I'm always trying to lose weight just because I'm a tall, curvy person aka not tiny. Sometimes I kinda like myself...is that so bad?
Lifelong struggle = needed to vent.

I have observed in my experience that most people who choose to make unsolicited comments do so more from their own insecurities than any true thoughts they are having towards you. In fact, as weird as it may sound, the comment may have come from, because the person did notice you making progress and felt threatened by that.

I'm trying to un-mope myself because I don't think there was any malice or anything involved. Just everyone was talking about the subject near me and since I was nearby I got hit with "normal female talk" fallout. It just caught me way off guard. I think people talk self-depracating about their own struggles (myself included), but its weird to be called out from someone else.

I should probably just Elsa this one and Let it Go, right?

Seriously how rude.... kindess always matters, people! I am so sorry someone was such a dummy (PG word). I totally agree that it has to do with that person's insecurities, which is so sad. You have nothing to worry about and a LOT to be proud of- you are a HARD worker and look great. Next time, stand up for yourself, girl! I find sometimes just saying something like "wow" or "jeez" with a shocked expression make people realize that what they're saying is SO inappropriate, but isn't confrontational.
