Roxymama's 5k to Marathon, Time to Collect Another Castle

Well now you all know where the magic happens when I'm dread-milling. And from now on I'm gonna have to just refer to it as Planet fine (even if they fix the sign.)

A couple of random thoughts post treadmill "fun":
1) The HGTV was taken (boo!) so I just settled for one that had no one by it and surprisingly CBS has Amazing Race on at 9pm. So that was actually a pretty fun show to watch while schlogging. Haven't watched that series a real long time. I'll remember this for next week.
2) Tempo at 9:39 (I actually think it's 9:41 on my machine) felt as fast if not sometimes faster than my race pace last weekend. It's probably mind tricks but it felt sooooo fast this week. Maybe it's also that it was 5 miles this time? During the cooldown when I brought the pace back down my left leg was feeling unusually tired/a lil achy in the "weather's changing" kinda ache...not like "pain." So I did bump down to a walk at the very end and so my time took a lil longer than the plan by around 5 ish min.
3) A guy started singing loudly and badly from somewhere to my right. I couldn't figure it out and I could tell other people were noticing. It was starting to make me uncomfortable. As I was packing up it appeared to be someone at the front desk (not an employee) and I still have no idea what that was about?
4) I CAN'T FIND MY FAVORITE EARBUDS!!!! I still need to do a proper hunting of my house as I didn't want to waste time looking forever for them last night, but I'M SO SAD!! Where did I put them. Trying to retrace my steps. I know I didn't leave them anywhere because I remember taking them out of my pocket at my house...BUT WHERE DID I PUT THEM. Confession: I have tiny ears...like comically small. And so I use child-size earbuds. I used the real Iphone ones last night and they hurt the inside of my ears so bad that I took them out at about mile 5. They just don't fit.
5) Loft is having a sale and I can't decide if I want these shorts or if I WANT these shorts. For my trip. They seem tough to match to anything but a plain shirt. Hmmmm

Ok, those are my thoughts. Also....I am tired. :coffee: but I found a pumpkin spice kcup and so I'm having a lil cup of Fall to wake me up.

"Planet Fine.. I'll do my Tempo- Run" Ha! It's the little things...

3) It really annoys me when people sing randomly in public.. I like singing at home, in my car, shower, etc as much as the next person, but don't annoy every. single. person. in the gym with your damn singing.

5) I love both pairs! I had (and packed) the best intentions of dressing cute at disney, but ended up wearing my race shirts and running shorts/compression leggings.
I love Loft though! I am (not so) patiently waiting for 3 things to arrive...2 dresses and a yellow lace skirt.

Yeah, so I just bought both pairs :scared:. My sizes are rarely on good sales (it's always the really small sizes left, amirite?) My mom always told me I'm too "fair" for yellow but seeing as I'm literally wearing a yellow cardigan right now, I never listened. I blame Belle. The shorts were each 19.99 which is way better than their normal $40+ price and so #justification. And I know I have shirts that match in my closet. I'm 100.025% packing all kinds of leggings too because who knows what the weather will do.
Mostly I wanted something new because I always do, but also my last two Disney trips I wore the exact same outfits...gotta refresh!

Yay! So cute!! And yes! I feel my sizes (M and 8) are always the first to sell out of everything! BOO! I am really really really fair skinned too, but I like to wear like gold, not pale yellow. I, like Belle, have dark hair, so I'll use it as a justification haha

Belle's of the world unite!!! Although I technically have auburn hair (most of the time) this last time I got my roots touched up we went full-on dark brown. And now my auburn (and white, let's be honest) is coming back through. So now I have hair color decisions for a couple weeks from now. I'm feeling the pull back to my red roots (literally.)

I have really small ears too!!! DH got me a nice set of earbuds for xmas and I tried every tip and couldn't get them to fit it is really frustrating. I finally looked it up and they say if you put the opposite hand behind your ear and pull they will fit better and that helps. Ok enough about my child sized ears. I love both of those shorts too and it sounds like you got a great deal on them.

Last year I thought it was chilly especially at night but then again I'm a Floridian and am sure it's comical to you guys what I find cold :cold:

Did I mention how jealous I am your doing Tinker Bell!! It was so much fun last year. I loved the course with the red hat ladies and the loud parrots squawking in the palm trees. Can't wait to hear all about it!

Cute shorts! They're the perfect print for a May vacation! Go you for serving 5 fast treadmill miles. I just can't push myself on the treadmill, my mind is not strong enough!

Small Ears Unite! Really hope I find my earbuds soon :(
And I am jealous of you that you already got to run Tinkerbell. So we can be jealous together :)
Wait...parrots sqauwking?!...omg that sounds amazing!! (I'm partial to listening to birdies.)

Thanks! I think I only got through all 5 because I know I've done it before, but it was tough. It also kind of helps that the faster you go, the sooner the mile is over with (that's the mantra I repeat to myself when I want to quit.) So happy today is a rest day because these ol' legs need another rest.

Confession: I never wore shorts until several years ago. I never thought I had the body for it (looking back at how I was in such great shape in high school & college, etc that makes me laugh now and feel sad for former-me) So outside of team uniforms, I would wear a lot of capris or jeans even in warm weather. Something about turning 30 and I was like "screw it...I look fine" and bought a huge stack at Target. Those are getting a little/a lot big in the waist now (yay!) so there's my true shorts confession for the day.

Beauties but funny girls... basically we have it all. HA!

I was the same way! Like I mentioned, I am SO pale and so I've always been really really self conscious in shorts (WHITE legs!) and avoided them... my calfs are big... blah. blah. blah. Pale and proud, baby! You rock those shorts, girl!! And YAY for needing smaller shorts! :)

Small ears too! Sounds like it's time for someone to make adult earbuds in smaller sizes!

Let's pay attention to this. it was a stretch to do a Tempo run during post-race week, so we want to make sure you aren't carrying too much fatigue going forward. So let's see how the easy and long go this weekend.

Good idea. I think I'll be doing my easy run tomorrow later in the day so at least that gives the legs a little extra downtime.
Sitting here now, my legs feel fine (the typical "I just ran the day before" feeling)
Fingers crossed

Confession - if there is no one around me, I do sometimes sing (very very quietly) at the gym. Totally got caught once by a random dude while singing a musical theater song. At least he said I have a nice voice :rolleyes1.

Despite the fact that I am pocket sized, I do not have tiny ears. But I don't have big ears either :-).

So, where are all these big eared people???

I found one..

I was once told in show choir to dance up front and just mouth the words so I guess if I had a nice voice like you maybe I'd let it out more often :) The fellow at the gym wasn't winning American Idol but I think he was doing it to be "funny" ?????

I'm pocket-sized too! (if we are talking about maybe a giant's pocket?? Is that a thing?)

I was always in front in show choir too, because, short :D.

So one of my biggest gym pet peeves is that person who, when there is a bank of empty treadmills, chooses the one DIRECTLY next to me. Once when this happened, I was in rehearsals for a production of Cats. I had no patience for that nonsense that day, and I began singing. The opening song of Cats. Loudly. The soprano part. He lasted about two minutes before angrily slamming his hands down and switching treadmills. LESSON LEARNED DUDE.

Fun fact: my grade school did "cats" for a parent-night talent show and I got to wear a leotard and leg warmers and full "cats" makeup while we all lipsynced to the broadway soundtrack. It was Very 80's! I guess lip syncing started young for me.

I had to take pics of these while at Barnes and Noble yesterday.

And

Guess who's getting them in their Easter Basket?

Also I saw some Disney novels, but had no idea what they were? Anyone know anything about these (definitely in the young adult section). I didn't buy any just curious about them.

And.....

Oh yeah and this happened. Hazelnut macchiatto. At least I already ran my 4 miles. My "cheapie free expo" earbuds pooped out about 2 blocks in. Annoyed! Doing commando search today for my good ones.
I ran slower than normal (above my 12:03 goal by lil bit) but I think having no "pump you up jams" was helpful in me not going too fast. Left leg felt "tired again" towards the end. Gonna pay attention to it later today during LR.

New InB Skirt/shorts trial update. My skirt is awesome (it's lightweight, I love how it flutters in the back, the waist did not slip or sag down). My shorts rode up my thighs though. Not anything obscene but it was a bit distracting and I don't think I had sweat enough for them to stick down. I didn't have anything in the pockets so maybe I need to? Suggestions for stuff to stick on my shorts to keep em down? Like what does Miss USA use to keep her swimsuit on? My hubby thought I looked so cool and I got compliments out on the sidewalk! So I want to make the shorts work!

Oh and we were at REI to look at new clip pedals (for hubby) and I got some goo. Bloks and shots. So I have e-gel and cliff stuff to try before Tink now.

I'm a big fan of the Clif gels. I generally use the chocolate or mocha (I think you can probably see the theme there). Those are some excellent flavor choices!

Those are a continuation of the series called Kingdom Keepers. I have read the first four in the original series so far. I tried to get DS10 to read them but he didn't care for them. However I really enjoyed them. I loved that were set mainly in the parks (WDW, DL and DCL). I felt like that made it easy to picture what was happening. I would definitely recommend them if your looking for an easy fun read.

Phone and fuel in the pockets? Maybe some Body Glide to get them to stick in place? And possibly try one size down for your next skirt, skinny mini. :)

I really, really like Yoga Bunny. He seems to take his yoga very seriously.
