Gearing up to do my pre-race day easy miles in a few. Maybe I'll grab a Starbucks at the end. This morning was EXPO DAY!!!!
Spoiler: I only bought one sweaty band. It's tradition now. So I behaved myself at the other booths (the official Nike booth had the BEST stuff but at Nike prices and I'm saving up to go hog wild at
Disneyland) but kiddo ended up with every free pin/lollipop/pen/notepad/beads/food sample you could possibly hope for as a four year old. Cheap date

We took this pic as she was eating both a free chocolate bar and a lollipop at the same time.

We are sox fans but the Cub stuff is inescapable around here right now.
They also had a sign that said "Irish you were beer". I regret not getting a solo pic with that one.
I spent most of my time fan-girling over the "bling" samples from other races. I used to kind of just beeline past the longer distance races at expos but now I'm all like "hmmmm....these look nice"
Also just gonna say Chicago has kind of a competitive "who can make the biggest medal" thing happening right now and I'm not mad at that.
Soldier Field 10 miler at end of may is kinda tempting....I mean look at that shirt!!!
Mag mile half has upped its medal game. I did the 5k two years ago and it was hoooooot!
The Chicago fall half marathon that I'm doing (unless I just hate the distance after Tink but that seems unlikely so far). And yes, that is the size of a salad plate!
This is the spring half happening in a week. And the medal you get if you do the fall one too. At this point I was just picture happy.
Here's my swag. I don't know if they have tracking but I'm 6777. So if you feel like checking in on me. Hope I live up to my goals. If I'm not doing so great then just send virtual happy thoughts into the universe for me...or beer.
Oh and my sweaty band: I went more understated to let my singlet stand out!
And that's it. Run now, run tomorrow. Try not to get too nervous. Probably will get nervous.
