Row row row your boat! July 28, 2013 on the Dream!

Great Scott! I wander away for a bit and more people show up!! Woo hoo!

So, who has started packing?... Or better yet, throwing stuff in a bag and stuffing it into the closet so the kids don't find it???

Now it's just countdown till we get the cruise docs...and getting the mail before prying eyes....And losing 10 pounds to compensate for the 5 I KNOW I am going to gain!!

Hee!

Well, would you believe that last nite me and my DD(161/2---Heyitsliana...she posted earlier here), started throwing things in suitcases to get ready!
My DH just had some surgery and is on the mend........
This will be cruise #4, but first on Dream.
Pretty excited......and already looking to book more............
We are DVC members, so lucky enough, cruising is our new obsession!
We decorate our door, well my DD does all of the hard work!
We have decided to enjoy the ship when docked in Nassau......
We are doing PALO brunch. Pretty excited about that for sure!
Some massages.........and relaxing!
We have been on the MAGIC 3 times......so really want to enjoy our DREAM!
See everyone really sooooooooooooooooooon. We should make a place to meet one night and have a drink, or two or three.....LOL!!!!:):):)

So you leave in 55 days ? Yea, I've started to gather some things together too. We decided to add a few days at WDW before the cruise. We will be at the Coronado Springs ( never stayed there before) July 25-28.

I was reading on the thread "what do you leave at Guest Services to get the characters to sign " and read a great idea ! So I went to Hobby Lobby and bought 2 8" white letters ( G & M, my initials ) and I'll get Mickey and friends to sign them with a black sharpie. There are notches on the back, so I'll hang them in my hobby room.

I usually go on a crash diet 2 weeks before the cruise to lose that 5 lbs that I'm sure to gain drinking Bahama mamas :rotfl2:

Hi Ree !! :yay:
Hope your husbands recovery goes well. I can feel your excitement of the DREAM ! A beautiful ship and you gotta ride the Aqua Duck !
The brunch is one of my favorite things on the ship. Can you guess ? I love to eat !:rotfl2: We're doing the Palo Dinner this cruise. But man do I love all the shrimp and crab at brunch and the grape pizza ! Did I mention the desserts ?? I love it how they have these little samples. I've tried them all ! Oh and dont forget the sticky buns !:lmao: OK, Im going to stop .:rotfl:
We are DVC members too. disreguarding all the advice, we DO use points to cruise. Next year we are using points for an inside cabin on an Alaskan cruise.

Yes, lets plan a meeting place for a drink. What seating does everyone have for dinner ? We have the 2nd seating. We'll have to think about that. Anyone else interested ?

Good Morning Everyone, We are so excited about our first cruise.... we are overwhelmed:( by all we need to do. We are teachers and our last day of school is next week. We leave for our vacation on June 7th and do not return home until August after we cruise. We do not have a lot of time to get super creative with our FE's but we are going to try. My son's like just about anything they are super easy kids!..... Also, do we give one FE per day or multiple ones on multiple days?:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Yea !! :cool1: Just 64 more days til we cruise !!!
Soooo excited !!

Would love to hear from our FE Participants pixiedust:

Since we have a small group I'd love to have the kids' ages and interest

So I still need Ricky & William ( have their ages), Merritt & Coleman,
Richard, Jane, Sofia & Adriana :wave2:

Hi Coop Troop ! :cool1:
What a wonderful summer you have planned !

As far as the FE goes, you are certainly free to do whatever you wish. There are no rules. Most people give out gifts once during the cruise. Whatever day or time works with you're schedule :). I usually give something to the family and then individual gifts to the kids. That's why I like to know their ages :thumbsup2
With having such a small group I'll probably do a little more than I usually do. But just deliver them all together. That's what takes the most time. But it does get you familiar with the ship:yay:

Hopefully, we'll have everyone's cabin numbers before everyone leaves home. BUT ,if not, Guest Services will deliver to those folks whose cabin numbers are unknown. Just don't ask them to deliver all your gifts:rotfl2:

Hope this helps ! And BTW, thanks for teaching our kids !!! Teachers are far too underpaid and recognized !!:cheer2:

Sweet! :cool1: Sounds like a plan! I think I can! LOL! Looking forward to the cruise!!!! And Meeting new Disney peeps!pirate: Now on to making shirts for the pirate night!

Yes, we are spending a week at WL beforehand. I'll probably not eat at all that week prior.... I was never hungry in Florida during the summer months.

Good Morning everyone! This is really fun reading all of these notes from everyone! I am so excited about vacation that I'm having trouble concentrating on this week. Need to get my son finished with school this week...and then get him packed for his choir tour to Colorado. THAT will keep me busy for awhile. He's got a two-page long list of things he's supposed to bring...all in one suitcase...that he can carry himself. I guess this is good practice for cruise packing! :rotfl:

The UPS man brought our FE gifts for y'all yesterday -- now to get them all packaged up. :thumbsup2

And about losing that 5 pounds...yes, I'm trying to do that too! ;)

Hope you have a great day!!

Hi Everyone! Wow! Lots of activity the past few days! Getting excited!

If anyone is interested in joining the FE, but misses the 6/1 deadline...DON'T PANIC! Just scroll down a bit on the spreadsheet. There are groups for "late comers" with extended dates. If there are only a few, I'm sure no one will have a problem combining! My family was previously booked on the Magic and had to cancel DAYS before the trip. There were 20 cabins in our FE group! Needless to say, I've got tons of extra goodies and don't mind spreading Disney cheer!

Speaking of which, should we plan a meet and greet the first day? I know lots of cabins haven't been assigned (mine included) and a few might change with upgrades, etc. **If your cabin or party changes prior to sailing please UPDATE the spreadsheet AND leave a shout out here so we can all take note! But if it changes at port on the day of sailing you can access the spreadsheet on your mobile device if it has Internet, but we'll need a way to get the word out to anyone who doesn't. I figure the best way to do that is if we meet up to say hi? Any other suggestions?

Yes, we would love to meet everyone ! The best time is just before the lifeboat drill. You are not required to bring your lifejacket, so no need to go back to the cabin. Since we are a small group we could meet at Bon Voyage bar on Deck 3. Its on the other side from Guest Services. Or the last time our group met in the "D" Lounge, on Deck 4.

If you're missing someone's cabin number, you can ask Guest Services to deliver it for you. We did Secret Mickeys on our last group and they were happy to deliver. Dont think they'll give out the cabin #'s ??

Still need ages for Richard & Jane and also Adriana. I would like to give age appropriate gifts to all the kids :cool1:

I haven't checked in since last year. Since that time plans have changed a little as it will be just me and my 6 yr old daughter traveling. My DH will just have to hear about everything he missed. I haven't decided if I want to join the FE group as of yet as I'm not that creative and I would most likely have to find something in store. Me and Cailey (my daughter) are so excited!!! It's all we ever talk about. The last day of school is next week so we are both ready for vacation!

I guess I need to make a decision by June 1 - is that today???

Cailey, we've been really flexible with the FE group....it's not very big and I'm pretty sure we'd all say, "the more, the merrier!" You've certainly still got time to decide to join in.

By the way -- I'm not crafting anything at all!! Counting on me for crafting would not be a good gift for anyone! Mine is definitely purchased...but it's VERY Hoosier. Hopefully, y'all will like it.

I see you're from Maryland -- my family is from the eastern shore -- I grew up out there. Please have a Tastykake for me (we can't get them here!!).

I agree! Do not stress about joining the FE by tomorrow! We've got several sections with different joining deadlines, but so far we just have a little group so feel free to join any time. Just try not to wait TOO long for those of us who are crazy planners (and I'm referring to myself)!

There are definitely no crafting requirements! Check out Pinterest and Etsy for some crafty and not so crafty ideas before you make your decision!

Thanks for being so welcoming! Yes, living in Maryland the last 24 yrs, but born and raised in Florida. Maybe I should do something Baltimore Ravens....hmmmm. My daughter's name is Cailey and my name is Pam. She will be turning 6 on July 25th so this is her "birthday cruise"

My daughter would LOOOOVE to participate just because she loves giving gifts.....I'm going to go look for some ideas:)

Welcome Pam and Cailey ! :welcome:

Happy to add you to our FE group !
What a great way to celebrate your 6th birthday ! :dance3:

We're at my Grandsons graduation this weekend.
Next week my husband is going to Southeast Asia w our son and 8yo Grandson,
Adventures by Disney.
I plan to finish up my FE gifts while he's gone :cool1:

Still waiting for ages for 3 kids in our FE group... Richard, Jane, and Adriana :confused3

Oh, almost forgot.... Pam, go to page 8 of this thread to access the FE spreadsheet and add your and Cailey's info. :surfweb:

Thanks for the weather site. I never worry too much about the weather in the Bahamas. Its like FL. An afternoon shower is not uncommon. Actually, it cools things off. Also ,it might show rain and then it never happens :)

Pam, do you know how to add you and Cailey to the spreadsheet (page 8 ) ?
Wanted to be sure everyone knows you're participating :)

Still waiting on our cabin assignment ! :surfweb:

Wow! Haven't posted on here for a while.
Thought long and hard about joining the FE group but finally decided we need to save every penny to book another cruise onboard :rotfl:

Also just checked and we got our GTY assignment. We've been upgraded from a 7A to a 5C! pixiedust:
