Row row row your boat! July 28, 2013 on the Dream!

Ok......fellow cruisers....3 weeks......21 days! Our DREAM will come true! Most of my family, except for me is 3/4 packed......WE R SOOOOOOOO EXCITED! Has anyone pre-paid their gratuities yet?

I still need to prepay gratuities. Our 2 oldest Grandchildren are coming for a visit this week. After they leave I'll get down to CRUISE :cool1: business !!
Looking forward to their visit ! Great teenagers !!!:thumbsup2

I think, since there are still people joining the late comers FE, I'll leave everyone who added themselves after the 15th where they are. If anyone has extras or hasn't started their purchases yet, go ahead and include them though. This way if their group gets big enough they'll still have plenty of people. I didn't join the FE on my last cruise until 4 weeks before and we still ended up with 10 cabins! You never know! But I definitely have some extras for a few...just in case!

Can't wait for the meet and greet! Oh, if you have a last minute upgrade or cabin change make sure to let us know at the meet and greet!

Just stopped by to say hello to everyone. I am SO ready for vacation. I've got a countdown clock on my desk and a countdown app on my phone. This morning, I contemplated figuring out how many hours we have left -- but I didn't do that. It's kind of slow at work right now -- too much time to think! :)

Hope everyone's packing is coming along well. Can't wait to meet you all!! :yay:

Haven't started packing yet, but we have our embarkation shirts ready. Our shirts for pirate night and our door magnets are on their way (all courtesy of Etsy). I'm counting the days here as well!

I have countdown clock's on every device as well! I even used those handy ringtones on the board and changed the ones for my traveling companions...I get Disney songs several time a day when they text me!!

We r soooooo overjoyed for this trip! All is ready and we r packed notnleaving for another week......
Wonder what the drink o the day will be when we board??
Looking foward to our meet/greet at 3:30 in D Lounge!!!!

Hi everyone!
This will be our first Disney cruise. My husband and I are in our 30's, we live in Massachusetts and we have a 6 year old son. We have no idea what to expect and would love to get up to speed on what's going on in this thread. I will have time to read more of it later on today or tonight. Just wanted to introduce ourselves!

We hear the Disney cruise is a blast and we're looking forward to it!

:welcome:

You are going to love sailing with Mickey ! ::MickeyMo This will be our 14th Disney cruise. We've gone with our Grandchildren and we've gone by ourselves and we've had 2 family reunions. Getting ready for our next family reunion next summer in Alaska.
The service on the Disney ships is second to none. Conde Nast rates it the best cruise lines for families. :yay: Your son will love the kids club. All of my Grandchildren and nephews did, even my shy one. My advise is to introduce him to the club the first evening while everyone is new and getting to know each other. Don't miss the shows each evening. They are truly Broadway quality !!
Come to our Meet and Greet at 3:30 pm in the D Lounge ( family nightclub )on the first day ,right before the lifeboat drill. There will be other kids there for your son to meet :) :thumbsup2

Thank you so much! My big question is, what do the adults do all day when their kids are in the club?

Thank you so much! My big question is, what do the adults do all day when their kids are in the club?

One of the nice things about Disney ships is there are adult only areas.
As a couple, we love the adult pool. The comfortable padded lounges, the pool side bar, the large hot tubs, and the Cove Cafe which has coffees, frappicinos and free pastries. Go very early as late morning it's hard to find a chair, especially on sea day.
Read your Daily Navigator to find out what's going on the Dream that day.
During the day, there are trivia games, beverage tastings, art tours of the ship, bingo, deck 4 is a wonderful shaded promenade area with lounge chairs to read a good book, several good shops on board, looking at photos in the photo gallery, going to the on board booking desk to plan your next cruise with 10% off :-)
At night, there is the adult nightclub area with karaoke, game shows ( don't miss Match Your Mate ! Hilarious ) Bruce and I won one year ! Beautiful lounges with quiet music. We like Meridians next to Palos ! And you don't have to have Palo res to go to their bar.
Hope this gives you some ideas ! :cool1:

Thanks! We actually have one dinner at Palo. There is no formal night on this cruise, right? I found something that said there is no formal night on the 4 night cruises, but just wanted to be sure.

Katesu,

Welcome to your new extended Disney family!
Once you are here...you are stuck with us! LOL
So much to do for adults!
Once your little one hits the club, he will be well taken care of for the four days!
Come and meet us in the D Lounge at 3:30!

There is what Disney calls ,a dress up night. You will see everything. Some people still like to get dressed up, but it's completely optional. We booked Palo for dinner, also.I'll wear the same thing to "dress up" night that I wear to palo's. Dh will wear button down shirt with khakis. That's as "formal" as I get on a 4-day cruise :cool1:

How could I have known that you and I would both have countdown apps?! That made me smile!! :cool1:
