We'd like to set up wireless at our campsite for ourselves and a couple family members that will be in the same loop. We're looking at purchasing a router from Amazon. Any specific requirements needed? Can we call ahead to check out a modem for use at our campsite?

The modems are regular cable modems that are distributed on a first come first served basis. Go by the meadow trading post and get on the waiting list. They will call you when there is one available. Any router will do but make sure you know how to set it up (no tech support ). As far as router range that's a whole different subject but you can probably serve the adjoining sites. I set one up to see what it was like and they were fine. Easier to tether your phone tho

Short Answer is yes. If you have an older wireless G router sitting around bring that. Or what I been suggesting is buy a small travel router. They are compact and useful if you do business travel. I have one myself and its great as I can turn a wired room into wifi, or if I have signal issues it will double as a signal booster in the room for the hotel wifi. It would do great at the campground if I didnt already have a linksys in the RV running freeware OS to do wifi repeating for me at my local race track (signal is too weak to pick up in worker camping.)

I'm fairly tech savy......so maybe we'll look into purchasing a travel router. Recommendations on brand, etc.??
