Route 1 from Philly to Orlando???

At least crossing the Bullverd on foot readies one for the pedXs in WDW area.

I-95 is the way to go, at least compared to Route 1. If possible try driving on a weekend. The traffic around Baltimore, DC and northern Virginia is not that bad on Saturdays and Sundays.

My DH drove route 1 Doylestown to Clearwater, donkeys years ago, with high school friends. It took them a couple of days to get there. Figure at least four times as long as it would take on 95.

Here in Maine, I personally like parts of route 1, the old motels etc. and tacky roadside entertainments that are still around from when route 1 was the only way to get to Florida. If I had nothing but time, I might do it that way. But more than likely I'd jump onto 95 for at least some stretches.
