The have an omelet station and the Chef is deaf , the sign tells you to point to what you want . You explained his to one of the guys who proceeded to talk loudly:rotfl2: Sooo Tony pointed for him ,the guy looks at Tony and ays "How come he heard you":rotfl2::rotfl2:

Wow, that was some food!Yum!

I was getting a little confused between the Elvis's (is that a word?) and your guys!

That view is amazing....still need to go back to the beginning and catch up...hopefully I can do that today...still have a lot of catching up to do...Kathy's and Karin's. :cool1: Does Pat have one going?

Your trip looks so much fun and so American, don't think you'd find anything like that here :rotfl:

I love your very own Elvis, his trousers are very cool :)

Rosie Roamin' Update:goodvibes

We will be staying at th Hampton Inn and Suites on Capital Landing in Williamsburg next month. We met with Patty and she gave us our list of Travelers !! 4 of whom we already knew and 3 others , we have 1 open spot , which I imagine they will fill soon!!

We leave at 6:10a from Buffalo with all the travelers and fly to Baltimore where we have a 45 minutes wait for our flight to Norfolk Va where we land at 9:30a .
Next we pick up the15 passenger van and this time the back seat is not removed so we are gonna have to haul those suitcases into the back seat thank goodness we know 4 guys who are gonna be doing it :lmao:Then we drive to Williamsburg which I think is about 45 minutes . Plan is to borrow Judy's GPS so we can find our way around :rotfl2:
Am hoping to be at the Hotel by noon and check in and find some lunch. Then head to Yorktown .

Now I need some tips from those who know Williamsburg ie MARY ELLEN!!

First where is it in Yorktown that you can try on period clothes and Pet a Turkey ??
Second is there any good place for supper near Yorktown ??
Third What about the Ghost tours ??

Anyone please help!!!

I am no help with your upcoming trip, Rosie, but I LOVE all the updates. Your travels all look so fun! :goodvibes

Am hoping to be at the Hotel by noon and check in and find some lunch. Then head to Yorktown .

Yorktown is very pretty The Riverwalk is very nice. It is also close to the battlefield which has a lovely visitor's center. But the battlefield tours might be a little boring for your group.

Now I need some tips from those who know Williamsburg ie MARY ELLEN!!

You have to visit the colonial district. Go to the visitor's center first.
http://www.colonialwilliamsburg.com/plan/visitor-center/

If you purchase a ticket for everyone you can take the bus in for free. If not, you can walk in. It's about a 3/4 mile walk. The path is actually really pretty but its probably going to be HOT so the bus is better.

Anyone can go into the colonial district, but to get in a lot of the buildings (not restaurants) you need the ticket.

The movie in the visitor center is also pretty good. It's a gloss over of the history and is included in the ticket price.

There are several colonial restaurants that serve lunch and dinner.

http://www.colonialwilliamsburg.com/do/restaurants/historic-dining-taverns/

I've eaten at Christina Campbell's and King of Arms. Lunch is clearly the better value. I enjoyed both. I need to try a new one this time.

First where is it in Yorktown that you can try on period clothes and Pet a Turkey ??

I have no idea.

Second is there any good place for supper near Yorktown ??

I would eat here. It's right on the river front. Lovely views

http://www.riverwalkrestaurant.net

I am thinking of eating there in August. Denny and I decided to go back and visit at the end of August. those are the only days I have off all summer. Boo!

Third What about the Ghost tours ??

There are multiple ghosts tours that you can book.

Here's one that's available, but there are multiple choices. I have not done one. The one night I was registered it was after a storm and the electric was still out so it go canceled.

Anyone please help!!!

Definitely eat at Food For Thought. http://foodforthoughtrestaurant.com There are a ton of chain restaurants located in the same area and this place doesn't look like much but it got great reviews on Trip Advisor. I have eaten there twice and its GOOD! It's probably not far from your hotel.

You can walk the campus of William & Mary. It's on the edge of the colonial district and its gorgeous.

Jamestown would be great for a day trip. There are outdoor and indoor displays and a decent cafeteria.

http://historyisfun.org

You can get a combo ticket to the Jamestown settlement and the Yorktown Victory center (which is somewhat near the battlefield and river walk). I have not been to the Victory Center

Hope this helps.

ALSO -

fun updates. I love all your Elvis pictures. Let's see - food porn, Elvis, and Marv on a stick. What's not to love????

Your plans sound great Rosie. The river walk is very pretty. Lots of great photo ops. And BG is a really, really pretty park. I hope everyone loves its. Just a word of warning - it is not completely flat. there are some hills.

Rosie, plans are sounding great. Glad you are going to Busch Gardens and good that you can get a discount.

A train ride is always a good ride for a big group.

My plan s to eat at The King's Arms Tavern for lunch, so we can enjoy a meal served by Colonial dressed staff and lunch is heaper than dinner;) A little shopping perhaps in Merchants Square and then supper either at Mary Ellen's suggested restaurant Food for thought or at DoG pub in Merchant's Square !! I have a feeling a brief dip in the pool might end up another wonderful Day.
