We've decided to spend the last 2 nights of our October trip at the new Rosen Shingle Creek resort. We have placed our trust in someone who should know, so if he's wrong he's in deep doo-doo! :teeth: Luckily (for him and us), we trust him implicitly!

Don't tease, Debbie :teeth: please share a website so I can have a good nosey :) ;)

Not a huge amount to see at the moment, Karen, but here you go.

Very nice too, Debbie :thumbsup2

I am pleased to see there is a wide range of dining options there :teeth:

We're doing an advance tour tomorrow (Thurs), so hopefully we can report back something positive :teeth:

Um, tour got cancelled. Recheduled for July (sorry, Deb!).

:thanks: I shall look forward to hearing about it then. If the July tour gets cancelled too, I might start to indulge myself in a spot of mild anxiety. :beach:

Nothing to worry about from the construction point of view, it was just that the person who does their tours wasn't available on Thursday, so we had to reschedule for a time when we can all make it.

We are currently at RSC. We are checking out early tomorrow. This place is a nightmare! It is visually beautiful, but that's about it. Nothing works. Not the Internet, the phones, or wake calls. Maid service is thee WORST of anyplace I have ever been. Constantly trying to come into the room when the DND sign is on the door at 7am (3 days in a row). Then when they do make it in the rooms are not cleaned, the bed gets half done... Construction people everywhere. The first two rooms we were sent to were unfinished. The room we ended up in had not bath tub, just a shower. NOTHING rings up at the stores/markets (meaning the bar codes aren't in the system) All the ice machines, and vending machines on the floors are empty.... although you wont know until you put money in. I could go on and on. It was just chaos. I can see this place being amazing in a few months when everything is up and running. But they were not ready to open, and even the staff is freely admitting it. I guarantee that's why your tour was cancelled. This place is an embarrassment.

I will end on a happy note. The bath amenities were amazing. White cedar and lime... very christmasy. I love it.

Oh dear! Don't panic yet, I'm sure it will have the kinks sorted out by the time you go

Oh dear, what a fiasco. I wonder why they opened when they're clearly not ready? You'd think it would be less damaging to thier reputation to open late than to risk what could be really dreadful press.

Sorry to hear you've had such a bad experience. Hope things have improved by the time we get there! :teeth:

Heh maybe I had a lucky escape - couldnt get a room for the first 2 weeks in October.

When in october are you going Deb - maybe it will belong enough for them to get up and running fully ?

We're only there for the last 2 nights of our trip - 3-5 November. I'm willing to risk it, to be honest. We'll have had a fantastic 16 night stay before we even get there.
