Rosen Plaza Hotel?

Anyone have any experience with the Rosen Plaza Hotel next to the Orlando Convention Center? How much per night? (my dates are over 330 days away, thus no price--and I want to know if the "convention rate" of $99 is actually a "deal") The preliminary info that I received says things like "recently remodeled" and "lovely hotel"--which makes me wonder.... TIA!

I'll be there for a seminar from May 17, so I'll come back and post what it was like! The rate I got through my seminar was $119, which is more than your rate, so yes I guess that's a deal! Rack rates are much higher, I know that.

Just back from Rosen Plaza. I really couldn't find anything to complain about. The room was clean and comfy, the hotel was in good shape. The pool was nothing to shout about, but it did have a cool whirlpool and a hot spa. Mostly adults - only a few kids around. The location felt safe - not in a sleazy area at all. There was a free shuttle to Universal - not sure about Disney, though I think so. The I-drive trolley and Lynx buses passed right outside.

Check into Sky auction. I've seen this hotel go for less than $50 including the fees. We stayed there for $56 through Hotwire and really liked it. They do get a majority of business travelers though.

Convention hotels tend to dump rooms on PL and Hotwire to help fill the hotels when they don't have a convention booked.

If you're attending a large convention there might not be rooms on PL or Hotwire unless your group releases room at the deadline.
