Has anyone ever dined here just for dessert? I would love to have the trecale tart....it's my FAV! & Their drinks sound really yummy. Dinner sounds great too, but as I get great pub grub at home, I'm not really interested in a full meal there. Would I need an ADR for that? I'll be there in Jan if it makes a difference.

I would definitely make an ADR. Regardless of whether you're getting a full meal or just dessert and drinks, you still need a table.

We sat in the bar area and just had pints and the cheese platter. Lots of good people-watching too!

I love Rose and Crown, but I have never gone just for dessert.

Just to let you know, you can't eat in the Rose and Crown if you only want dessert, you must order the full meal. And we don't do the treacle tart, the menu on this website is quite out of date. If you just want drinks and some food you can order in the pub itself without reservations (they only sell fish and chips or cheese plate though), but I'd advise you to get reservations if you want to eat in the actual restaurant.

I have 2 words--DON'T GO . I returned yesterday from a 20th anniversary trip. For our last night I made ADR's there. I had requested an Illuminations table. I was told no promises and we were fine with that We arrived on time-our ADR was for 7:40. We were promptly seated-very promptly-our pager went off as we were walking away from the check in podium. We were seated inside at a tiny table against the shut off fireplace near the kitchen but were told about the VIP area so that was fine with us. Our wait person-a young man from Liverpool-was swamped-we were by the kitchen and we literally watched him spin in circles more than once keeping up with everything. We were waiting for our reciept and our dining card to be brought back to the table when the MOST disgusting thing happened. As I was drinking the last of my drink thru my straw, I felt something solid come up thru it and into my mouth. I thought it was pulp from my lemon slices and I spit it into my napkin. I have no idea how I did not throw up at the table because it was NOT pulp-I would have given anything for pulp-- it was a FROG. a small one and not as intact as it started out as. I can not tell you how disgusted I was. I told our waitperson and he did in fact verify it was a frog. He couldn't have been more apoligetic and brought over the manager right away.The manager Nick was mortified and apoligized repeatedly while offering to do anything to make up for it-but really what can you do to fix that? Comp the meal ? we were on free dining--free drinks to watch Illuminations to ??? I don't think I'd get anything solid or liquid there again ?? No sense in having the credits returned to our card since we were leaving in the am. So off we went to watch Illuminations--I tried- I really tried to let it go and find the humor in it. I haven't found it yet. We spent Illuniations listening the family seated just outside the veiwing area complaing about our being there.I couldn't say anything to them-- we were brought to that spot by the manager--and at that point it definitely wouldn't have been fit for the small ears at there table. After the show--we stopped at the store just as you enter world showcase. While waiting in line the man behind me started laughing at the person in front of me--rude but since he had a very large mouthful of beer at the time he ended up spitting it all over me. It definitely was a night to remeber--for all the wrong reasons. So if youre still considering it-please don't and if the UK cast member poster reads this-sorry to have such a negative opinion of your Pub.
