I'd go with the earlier one. People that get there around 7:00pm are usually there to watch Illuminations and will not be leaving. I know one year we had a 7:10-pm ADR. There was a table right next to us that was finishing up their entrees when we arrived. They were still there at 9:00pm when Illuminations started. They ate their entrees real slow, ordered desserts, then started ordering drinks and stayed put. In fact, the entire time we were there, we never did see anyone finish their meal and leave. I am currently meeting some fellow DISers at R&C in May and have an ADR for 7:05. We plan on ordering appetizers, entrees, desserts, and drinks and will be there for Illuminations. In fact, every time I've eaten at R&C and had a patio table, our ADRs are for around 7:05pm-7:20pm. If you get checked in at 7:50pm, there is no way you're going to be able to get a patio table. They will already be full with people waiting for Illuminations. When we're are around 7:05-7:20 our waiter always make a comment that he knows we are probably there for Illuminations and will pace our meal accordingly. They always volunteer, we never ask.
