My DH is bent on seeing Illuminations. I read a while ago that R&C is a good place to see the fireworks if you can swing it. However, is the food worth it? Or should we try to eat at a better restaurant and then try to get a good place for the show? I am trying to get us to Le Cellier for lunch and we may be full from that. We have the MYW dining plan.

Any ideas or advice? We are family of four with DS7 and DD5.

Ok...DH and I LOVE the Rose and Crown. We go often during every stay. We LOVE the fish and chips...we LOVE the service and we LOVE the atomosphere. That being said, for the first time this trip (we leave tomorrow am!!) we are trying an Illuminations dinner. Our TA made 8:00pm PS's and her advice (Francine from ourlaughingplace.com, and by the way, a lovely person with a wealth of knowledge) was to arrive early and tell the CM's when we check in that we are willing to be patient to get a table on the patio. It is also our first anniversary, and of course, we will mention that. There are no guarantees that we will get a table for it but in our opinion it is worth it! :cool1: We have only tried the cheese plate other than the fish and chips (the cheese plate is tasty but they need more crackers) and we have always gone for a late lunch. I can't speak for the other fare on the menu, but I have heard mostly good remarks. Of course, some people will have a bad experience anywhere they go...I don't really get that at all? It's Disney, we LOVE everything!
