We have ADR for Rose and Crown at 7:45 pm. Is that too early to request outside seating for the viewing of Illuminations?

Since IllumiNations is at 9 PM most of the year, you'll be fine. Note, however, that patio seating is only a request and not guaranteed. Depending on when you go, how busy the restaurant is, how many before you also requested a patio table the CMs at the podium may not be able to accommodate your request.

If you are seated indoors or at a patio table without a view, the R&C does have a viewing area adjacent to the patio that is exclusive to those dining at the restaurant. Just let your server know you want to go out to the viewing area and they will pace your meal accordingly.

We had a 7:35 reservation last Friday and requested a seat to view Illuminations. Our request was granted and we had a great seat outside. They have heaters out there, so it's not like you are eating in the cold.

Its not too early but there are still some reasons why they might not be able to grant the request.

We always tell them we'd like patio seating if available and that we don't mind waiting a bit longer for it. I think that last part is important.

So far, in about 20 times or so hitting up R&C for Illuminations, we've only been seated inside 1 time. I actually don't mind the viewing area for illuminations, but don't particularly care for inside dining b/c it is so loud with the bar right there.
