UPDATE
From the Orange County Register. August 12, 2014

After two years of on-and-off construction, Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles might finally open this month.
The restaurant’s health inspection was approved on Thursday, clearing the way for it to open, said Denise Fennessy, director of environmental health with the Orange County Health Care Agency.
The approval came one week after the agency raised concerns about pending plumbing and construction issues, while also noting that the restaurant needed additional paper-towel dispensers and splash guards.
An opening date for the two-story restaurant at 2110 Harbor Blvd., near Disneyland, was not provided by Elmo Washington, who manages the Long Beach location.
When it opens, the Anaheim restaurant will be the chain’s largest location at 7,000 square feet.
“We’re not going to have a big grand-opening, we’re just going to open our doors for business,” Washington said. “But it will be this month, for sure.”
Roscoe’s operates six restaurants in Los Angeles County. This would be the first in Orange County. It has run into a series of construction delays over the past two years because of various permit and building issues.
One Roscoe’s was visited by President Barack Obama in 2011 and the restaurant was referenced in several movies, including “Tapeheads” (1988) and Quentin Tarantino’s “Jackie Brown” (1997). Several celebrities have also stopped by, including rapper Snoop Dogg, soccer star David Beckham and former television talk host Larry King, the restaurant’s website says.
