Rope Dropping!

Can someone tell me what time guests are being admitted into the parks for 9:00AM openings? Trying to figure out how early we need to be there. Thank you! (I remember seeing a thread about this a week or two ago, but I can't find it. If anyone knows where that thread is and can post a link, I'd appreciate it greatly!)

It depends on the park. MK is 8am. AK is usually around 8:20. HS around 8:35/8:40. I haven't been to Epcot for rope drop too recently.

ETA: they let you in the tapstiles then, but hold you at a designated point inside the park. With the exception of AK (which usually lets folks go around 8:40/8:45), you don't get free reign in the park until right around 9.

Definitely get to AK early... like an hour early. We got there around 8:30am yesterday, and by that time there was a 90 minute line for Flight of Passage. By 9am it was over 2 hours.

I'm going for a smaller trip at the end of Nov/beginning of December. Trying to find a last minute cancellation for FOP FP, but accepting that I just have to rope drop. If I got to AK by 7:30 for a 9 am opening on 12/3, would I be out of FOP by a 9:30-10:30 FP at Kilimanjaro?

For an 8am opening, the park will open to everyone a few minutes before 8 (Main Street does not open an hour earlier on an 8am opening day).

I'm chronically early when it comes to rope drop, but if it were me and I were heading to 7DMT, I'd be at the park no later than 7:30. I'd rather wait a little longer outside the park and be at the front of the 7DMT horde than wait a little longer for 7DMT. Getting 7DMT done really early is great because it will put you ahead of all the people still standing in line for 7DMT while you go on to ride other things.

Basically there are now 2 rope drops for MK. One to get on Main and one to head to wherever you're going in the park. If you have a firm destination in mind and you want to be at the front of the pack, I'd get there at 7:30 as well. You'll be let in somewhere around quarter til 8, ten til 8, and Main Street is open, you then go up toward the castle and pick your route and stand at the rope. So, 2 herds to get the jump on.

Last time I tried that I went to Peter Pan... lined up and the ride broke down and nobody came out to tell those in the line inside the building. Sooo... that didn't work out to well. lol Just remember to expect the unexpected.
