As the title says, we will be doing the RD thing on a Thursday at AK so we can get on FOP, but we will have a 2yo and will need to get a RS. Since there are so many CMs that walk in the crowd, where will I need to look for that since he would not be going in queue ?

You will get your RS in line at the first touch point. It has been our experience that the child be with you when you request the RS. Enjoy the ride!

IS that the touch point right inside of the park, or at the one at the beginning of the actual FOP ride? I did know that we need to show the kiddo so we will all walk together to FOP and want to grab the right CM ASAP so we don't hold anyone up and also don't get delayed :)

The ride touch points are in front of the rides themselves. There are no ride touch points right inside the park.

We did RD and got a RS last month. The line stretched onto the bridge into Africa as we filed in.... we all kept together and stayed in line for quite a while. We kept asking if the stroller needed to leave, but they said stay together. Not until the actual ride entrance was where we got the RS. The line was slowly moving ahead by then and into a narrow line, so getting the RS didn't hold up the line behind us at all.

Good to know. I was watching a RD video and noticed they seemed to push the stroller really far, but then clipped the video, not showing where they left it at and I could not find any videos showing the RS process for this ride. I assume they will see that we are pushing a 2YO and since strollers are not allowed in line, they would tell us, but I hoped a heads up would help us not have to double back and get behind in line. Glad to know that it did not slow you down- Thanks!

Right, but when I was watching the a RD video specifically for FOP- the family there scanned at the AK entrance at bag check, then again right inside the park- but I could not tell if it was just inside the turnstile entrance, or if there was a larger scanning place since 90% of those people were heading to FOP. Then the video never showed where they scanned in at the FOP line entrance so I wanted to ask someone that specifically did a RS with RD for FOP to see if it would be slightly different than any of the other rides that you can obviously tell where the entrance is at VS when they hold you back and line you up before the actual ride- does that make sense?
We have done RS before on other rides so I am not new to that part, but FOP looks crazy and I could not tell where the ride entrance was at. Maybe I need to watch better videos haha.

The rider swap process works the same at FOP as it does at all other rides. You’ll need to wait until you’re released to walk to the ride to get the rider swap. You won’t be able to get a swap before the park opens.

Oh, I know you can't get RS before getting into the park :) What confused me was seeing two touchpoints on the video- one at the gate/bag check and another that looked like it was just inside.(Also, they were lining up FOP before park opening but people were already in the park, so I assume you don't mean I can't get RS at 8:45am on a 9am opening date if they already started letting people get in line) I didn't realize that it was because of EMH so people were scanned twice...I thought it was the beginning of a huge standby line because it is roped off and obviously a line- BUT they are also pushing their stroller and I thought that was not allowed in line so I got even more confused as to where strollers would go and where the actual line starts because we have not been to Pandora yet. And all the videos show a huge line just walking TO FOP, so I was not sure where exactly the true beginning of the line "starts". I guess maybe it depends on crowd levels at RD too.

The only ride that we have ever RD for was FoP. It was kind of fun as a new experience (queuing for the ride) but I'm confident I'll never do it again. Sometimes grumpy people on line, sometimes nice. The first cart you see to buy hot beverages while on line just buy at it thus avoiding a further walk up to Mr. Harambe's and then losing your party as they move much faster than you anticipated. By the time you find your party half way up the hill their coffee and tea will be cold;)

No advice regarding where the stroller drop off is or rider swap since we don't Disney with kiddos that young but can say you should immediately head towards the left once you get past the Island Mercantile store and start looking for the CM carrying the FoP signs for the start of the line. As long as two adults have cell phones, one of you can carry all the stuff in the stroller so the other adult can bypass one of the security bag check entrance lines and head immediately to the magic band reader lines. When we were there during one Christmas a no bag security line was set up to the left of the park entrance; no idea if it's there permanently as we now ensure we have FoP FPs or just don't go. The stroller pusher can mosey along at the slower pace they are used to and then just meet up with the other adult and children already on the line. The cell phones will come in handy to pinpoint where the line holder is and hopefully they can pinpoint a landmark that will make it easier to find them.

Have fun, keep your patience in hand, and enjoy. Oh and if it's any help try to ignore the time listed on the CM signs. It can be a good 45 minutes less than listed.
