Rope drop: what do you do for breakfast?

I'm looking for ideas on what to do for breakfast on our rope drop/MK day. We don't want a sit down meal and we want to be there right at opening.

Do most people just run to the food court of their resort and bring back things to eat while getting ready? I'm thinking in room breakfast so we can get an early start. Scheduling a sit down at 8:05 even on the monorail may be stressful if we are trying to make it at park opening.

Thanks!

we have Garden Grocer deliver morning stuff for us. We eat while we are getting ready. Food court at that time of morning is super crowded.

We get bagels, or cereal, pop tarts (easy portable stuf)

If we want non-TS breakfast before park opening...we typically stop by our resort CS on our way out and buy things that can be easily carried/transported. I think getting room service is a bigger risk of running late than a TS meal. Even just running out and bringing things back makes us run much slower...so I wouldn't grab things and bring them back. The only way I'd eat in the room if I brought breakfast bars or had food delivered in advance.

As for TS in the monorail area...Chef Mickey's starts seating at 7am and I believe 'Ohana starts seating at 7:30am...both of which will get you out in time to make park opening. Crystal Palace also usually runs fast enough with the first seating to get you out while dining in inside the park just before MK opens. The only character meals in the area that I wouldn't do and try and make rope drop are 1900PF and CRT as we've found we spend a bit more time at both of those. Not sure if you're up for a character meal, but all of these should be just fine time wise if you can snag the earliest ADR slots.

As for non-character options...While I've never tried it with Kona, GF Cafe or The Wave, we have done a 7:35a at Whispering Canyon and still made it to MK just before the park opened. Kona starts seating at 7:30, GF Cafe starts seating at 7, and the Wave another 7:30...so I think all of these non Character optinos in the MK area could work for a TS meal and rope drop if you decide you want a sit down.

So ultimately, I think you could consider a TS meal as an option with little to no worry if you can get the earliest seating...i.e. since most of the options in the area start before 8:05a.:goodvibes

We usually have a snack bfast in the room, do rope drop and have an early TS lunch in the park.

Sometimes this is tough to do, but we usually pack a bag half full of breakfast bars/bagels ect... stuff that can be eaten on the go and also act as a snack if need be before lunch. We will grab sometihng in the park before lunch if we need it, thinking cinnabun from Main Street...

You could definitely grab a muffin/bagle/crossaint at your food court though before you leave.

It all depends on where you are staying and your transportation options.

Now that all resorts have mini-fridges you can easily do breakfast in your room.

We usually buy some sort of muffin or pastries the night before at whatever park we are at to save for breakfast the next morning. I also bring packets of Carnation instant breakfast with me from home so I at least get some protein and vitamins with my pastries and don't feel as if I'm being so bad:rotfl2: I buy a large container of milk from the gift shop and keep it in the fridge all week for it.

We have a rental car so I think we are going to stop at Super Target and get:

- OJ
- Waters
- Cliff Bars
- Lara bars
- Fruit

On the days we have in room breakfast we will have an early ts lunch (12 noon).

Thanks for all the input!!

I schedule a half hour stop at the resort CS before heading out.

Our last trip on DDP I worried about enough food and brought granola bars, snacks, instant oatmeal (for bfast) and a few more things - went home with a completely full bag. we didn't touch the stuff I brought at all and were snack happy by the time we went home.

In the past when we used to vacation here yearly we would eat breakfast in our rooms, granola bars, cereal, yogurt.

Lots of people go to the food courts for breakfast.

If we were in a big hurry for rope drop we'd take our breakfast with us. Some type of fruit, like raisins or a juice box, granola bar and protein bar. Then, we'd just wait until lunch to eat somewhere.

We usually have hings in our room we can eat or we do rope drop them stop at a favorite spot for a breakfast treat - Main St. Bakery or another choicce depending on park.

I like to get baked goods the night before. Stuff like school bread and cinnamon rolls from the Main Street bakery really hit the spot in the morning. :)

Like a poster above, we pick up fruit & pastries in the park the night before for mornings that we don't have a breakfast ADR.

We do pastries from the park at Main Street bakery or schedule a sit down for early morning so we are in the park before rope drop.

we arent big on breakfast. Not usually hungry until 2 hours after we wakeup. Although usually I will try to get my son to eat a granola/cereal bar while getting ready. if he doesnt want a granola bar, whenever my son says he's hungry, we'll grab something in the parks. I always bring a few treats from home to save money. as i said, cereal bars, fruit snacks, crackers, etc. there are some good bfast options in the parks. esp MK (MK bakery). and epcot (france bakery). HS (starring rolls). Yummy!

Maybe we're bad, but we have our coffee and off we go - breakfast that early is NOT a biggie for us. We usually grab fast passes, go on one main ride, then take a break and eat some type of food. If we're at MK, it's to MS bakery we go, for our most delicious cinnamon roll. Epcot, we love, love, the berry croissant bread pudding with a little syrup drizzled over it at Sunshine Seasons. Otherwise, whatever, sometimes go straight to a lunch :confused3 hey, it's vacation  No rules, just right :thumbsup2

Before we had the DDP we'd go off-property early and grab breakfast in one of the many chain restaurants and still make it to rope drop.
With the DDP we find that a sit down breakfast would be far too much food for us so we usually buy Fruit Loops from Walmart and eat these for breakfast in our room.
If we have a breakfast ADR they're usually at 8am in the park we intend to visit that day so we're always out just before rope drop :)
We find that breakfast seems to be a forgotten concept in Disney xD

We normally stay at Kidani Village. I wake up and get ready before everyone else since I am the only female in my family. Once I am ready, I wake up my DH and 2 sons. We normally bring little boxes of cereal for the boys. They bring it with them to snack on throughout the day (it goes in a ziploc before we leave the room). I walk over to Jambo House to get a couple of pastries for my DH and I while they get ready. By the time I return, the boys are dressed and eating. Depending on the time, my DH and I will either eat before we leave or bring it with us and eat while we wait for RD.

LOL! this is us too! we never make breakfast a prirority. As i said, if he's hungry when he's getting ready he knows where the cereal bars are. otherwise, i wait for him to tell me when he's hungry. and he WILL tell me. lol. we just get ready, and go! :moped:... if we have a lunch adr i will try to get him to eat something in the morning. but otherwise i dont bother arguing with him. :upsidedow

he always waits til we get to the parks cause he knows they have better food. lol.
