Rope Drop Frozen Tips?

We have a PPO 8:05 breakfast at Akershus in November. We are going to actually eat breakfast there because my DD wants to meet the princesses. What time should we try to be done by to get in line? Is everyone with PPO ADR's being let into the World show case area before 9:00 or only those with ADR's actually in the World Show case?

Even if you pay early and rush through breakfast (and accept that you won't meet all the princesses), you'd be hard-pressed to be done by 9am. And, by that point, you'd be stuck behind guests who got in line instead of going to their PPO ADRs and the rope drop guests that Disney now lets in at 8:45 am. If FEA is your goal, I'd plan to be at the Epcot gates to be at the front of the RD pack, then book a late Akershus ADR for afterward.

That really is the best approach.

Top approaches here:

1. FP+ Frozen Ever After. Rope drop Soarin'.
2. PPO Garden Grill. Head to Soarin'. FP+ FEA.
3. PPO Akershus. Eat fast. Head to FEA. Still wait a long time.

And for the love of God, don't make a PPO and just pay the $10 per head fee for skipping it. It's a jerk move to other families, it's a jerk move to the servers at the restaurant.

We have been to lunch before and it only took about an hour and on another thread people are saying so many people are skipping breakfast to wait in line that the restaurant is pretty quiet. We have never been to breakfast there so I was wondering if the princesses are making their rounds right at 8:00? Josh at easy WDW says if you get an ADR to finish and get in line by 8:50 because the RD crowd is held back at Mexico until just before 9:00am. I was hoping the princesses are out right at 8 and maybe we could be done by 8:45. We are not big breakfast eaters so the focus is mainly a light breakfast and meeting the princesses.

This is going to be my strategy next week. I had a FEA fastpass that I switched to Soarin' because of the breakfast reservation. The only thing I am concerned about is a ride breakdown. I think you are more protected with the fastpass.

I agree FP seems safer. I am hoping with the ride opening up for the day that there won't be a breakdown until later. Good luck and let us know how your PPO breakfast wait was like. Even if the ride breaks down, if you beat the RD crowd your wait hopefully won't be that bad.

I'm assuming I would be held back at the RD location, and not allowed to wait outside the line like those who had ADRs at Akershus? Or if it was early enough could I just stroll back there and say I have an ADR?

After the Dining CM allows you to enter the park, you can head to Norway and wait in line for FEA. It's been reported the line is already quite lengthy by 8:30 so they aren't "holding" any dining guests back.

If we finished our 8:05 Akershus breakfast by 8:45, do you think we could still beat the RD crowd? I know we would still be behind the people who skipped breakfast but I would rather have a 30 -45 minute wait over paying $50 for our family of 5 to get on a ride. If so many are skipping breakfast do you think breakfast will be quicker?

Breakfast should run more quickly unless the Princesses spend more time with guests. Garden Grill runs more quickly than Akershus because the characters pose for a photo and don't talk.

Be sure to pay for your breakfast as soon as you are seated and nicely ask an entertainment Attendant or Captain if your family can meet the Princesses as quickly as possible as they rotate through... but I'm pretty sure they know guests want to hurry though their meals and the meet portion of the breakfast.

According to EasyWDW, it's not a significant advantage. He says that you really need a FP, and any other approach is madness.

That is entirely the point, from Disney.

However, with the breakdowns and waits and the relative comfort of the wait, you will wait a shorter time for Soarin' without a FP+ than you will for FEA, and be more comfortable doing so. It's really that straightforward a decision.

100% agree with this, from everything I've read over the last few days. The heat sounds utterly unbearable right now in Florida.
