Rope-drop FOP - skipped the lab?

Hi all - I can't recall if I posted this question or not, sorry if it's a repeat.

Last time we did DAK we rope-dropped FOP and they routed us PAST the lab, straight into the pre-show. I was pretty disappointed because I specifically rope-dropped rather than booking FP+ (this was in 2019) since I wanted to see the lab, and the FP queue skips it. It was September, so crowds were pretty light, so it wasn't as if they had HUNDREDS of people to funnel through quickly - not sure why they did this.

Has anyone else experienced this? What about when you jump into standby right before close?

One time before G+ started they funneled everyone near park close into the then-unused-FP line at AS2.

I‘ve always rope dropped FoP many many times and I never saw the lab until
I happened to ride it with short wait times at a DVC “moonlight magic” extra hours event. So, I think it’s pretty standard to bypass the lab at rope drop.

We only ever saw the lab when there was no FP+ or G+/ILL in 2020 and 2021. Even during a paid after hours event, they wouldn't let us go through the lab:(

We have done RD multiple times and it seems to be random. Some times, we have walked through the entire queue including the lab. Other times, we walked in through what used to be the FP+ line and skipped the lab. Last fall, we skipped the lab, which is my favorite part of the queue.
