Rope drop crowds at TT?

Is it logical to think that I'll be fine heading over to TT at rope drop without having a FP? We will walk right there, but with a stroller and two walking kids, we're not going to be the first ones there. We're going in Sept. TT is my kids' favorite ride so I don't want to risk missing it. Our last trip was Nov 2012, when TT was still in refurb so it's essentially that we get to do it on our first EP day.

I suspect TT = Tower of Terror? I'm a computer scientist and took an interest in wait time data. I used what I found to build my own little web application for my wife and I to use (check sig).

Basically, based on historical data and some statistics: Tower of Terror stays below a 10 minute wait time until around 9:50 PM. The wait times seem to peak around 12:30PM and 3:20PM! If you want another good time to ride, try jumping in line around 1:30 for another dip in the wait times!

I thought you were talking about Test Track. Either way if your going at rope drop in September you'll be fine. Short wait at most.

Actually, I would guess it is a reference to Test Track at EPCOT. Tower of Terror is usually abbreviated "ToT" on these boards. Plus, there was a reference to a refurbishment, which was recently the case with Test Track.

Doh. I even thought "I think Tower of Terror is usually shortened to ToT". In that case, based on my number crunching times stay below ~45min until around 10:30AM (much lower even earlier in the day . . . ). So I think getting there at rope drop should be fine!

We did this in June. We knew we were going to MK later, so we booked our FPs for there. Went straight to TT at rope drop and waited about 10 minutes.

Thanks for the info! I was hoping that was the case. We never wait more than 20 minutes for anything, with 10 or less being ideal so that's great!

In June we went right to TT from rope drop, the line stretched from the door all the way to east pavilion. At first we thought boy this isnt going to be fun, but the hadn't opened up the queue lines yet. So once they got the doors opened and funneled people through the queues it went quick.

I say 15 to 20 minutes...

We RD TT in mid June and walked right on. It will definitely help if you are toward the front of line. We were in line by 8:30 and were maybe 10-15 people in front of us. By the time they opened gates at around 8:50, line was pretty long behind us.

Test Track: we did just this in early May but we walked from the International Gateway entrance, it was posted 10 min wait but it was more like 5. We did the ride, hustled through the post ride stuff to get in line again, was about 9:25am give or take a few min. Posted wait now 20 min, really was only about 10-12 min wait. Did the ride, took our time in post ride activities and were done around 10:05am.

Post ride stuff was fun, you can make a commerical (silly or serious) with your car you create and email home to yourself. There is a driving game. An opportunity to design a car if not all of you did that in the pre-ride area. There are neat cars you can have your photo taken by and email home as well (free souvenirs )

Also what worked for us was we had our first FP+ for Soarin 10-11am and Living with Land 11-12pm. From TT we went to MS and those who wanted to ride only had a 15 min wait. Then we zipped to Soarin by 10:45 to catch the end of our FP time. Worked really well for us, got 4 rides in by 11:30 plus had time for a quick snack in Land Pavillion between Soarin and LWTL.
